Dublin Bike Man

on time, beautiful bike, very trustworthy! highly reccomended

Wanted to buy a second-​hand bike for myself and my girlfriend from a trusted source and went with
as it seems legit (bikes are publicly on website and handed over by the guy himself).
My bike (Decathlon racer) is working well despite the original model I inquired for and agreed to meet up for was at the end of the day not available. The second bike was hit and miss, paid 200 € for a bike that on first real drive made noises, saddle bar was short and didn’t allow for raising enough. Yes I know it’s a used bike and can’t expect to function like new, but it’s more the attitude asking about replacing/​fixing the bike was dealt with that is wrong here. Especially as the website says this:
«if there is a problem with the bike shortly after you purchase it, and it is something that I have overlooked, I will rectify it free of charge. If if is something that has occurred as a result of regular wear and tear, or after a few weeks/​months of use, I can repair it or upgrade it at a low price, or sometimes at no charge.»
In summary, if considering dublinbikeman take the bike for a proper run before purchasing and don’t expect any fixing afterwards. Overall rude impression for a business that could do so much better with an uplift on the way it’s operated.

In two words, just don’t. He has a good selection of bikes which are priced reasonably but their condition leaves a lot to be desired. Mine broke within 2 days and while the website said that repairs would be made he did not fix it and said I would have to wait for a part to come in. When I tried calling back to arrange to have it fixed I got no response and my phone calls were not returned. Spend the extra few euro and buy from a real shop where you can go back for after sales service, unfortunately I learnt this the hard way.

If you are like me, saving every cent and not want to spend money on overpriced parts in bike shops, this is your place to shop around.
This is pretty much like buying stuff from online advert, but you can trust it 100%.
Not sure about returns and solving any issues that might come after purchase, but there can’t be too much, as bike parts are quite straight forward. Better check measurements before buying.
Defo try it, if you need some rare parts.
