Very interesting and very cozy café, super friendly staff, I had the Irish breakfast and felt completely ripped off, never before have I come across a sausage sliced length ways down the middle and put on the plate to make it look like two and for just under € 12, I realize overheads are high in this area but come on lads that’s taking the piss.

We wandered in here for breakfast on New Year’s Day. It’s a small place, but the gentleman running the place(who seemed to be owner/host and helped the chef in the kitchen a bit too) was very kind and welcoming. I ordered the traditional Irish breakfast and it was awesome. I mean, it seriously hit the spot after being out late ringing in the New Year. There is a lot of artwork containing male nudity on the wall, which was a little awkward/distracting, and it was cash only while we were there, necessitating a trip to the ATM(apparently the credit card machine was only temporarily broken). Otherwise, this was a great breakfast/brunch spot.

Super small café, you would think it would be bigger from the outside but small and cozy. Irish breakfast is what I got here well because I am in Ireland, and need of some greasy comfort in the morning. Overall the service was really good, and surprisingly fast for a joint that was packed on a Sunday morning, because not a lot of places are opened Sunday morning for breakfast. The décor was different, as in very eccentric-ically different but not in a hipster kind of way, in a very artistic way. The bathroom is small, it is a one cook, one waiter setup but they put some good food on the table.

What a lovely way to start the New Year! As soon as you enter you feel like you’re entering someone’s home. The menu is small, but it’s perfect(especially for a hangover). The place is ran by the owner and the cook — that’s it. The owner takes your order and handles the front of the house. He’s great. Super friendly and fun. The food is simple, but it is done right. Great selection of coffees. Overall, great Irish breakfast.(just be aware — the artwork is a bit racy :))

Welcoming, delicious breakfast and lunch. Recommended all the way, try The irish breakfast. Sausage, beans, eggs, toast and bacon. The coffee is great, and service was perfect.

The atmosphere of this café is interesting to say the least! Intimate pictures of men and women douses upon the walls surround the entire seating area. The service here was good and the food was decent. My favorite part about my meal was the coffee.

This is a breakfast place? I’m only discovering that right now; we went there for dinner! :D Strolled around Temple Bar to look for a rather relaxed location for some food on new year’s eve before the party. Stage Door Café happened to be what we were looking for. Friendly waiter gave us a nice little booth and super-friendly chef Al came along to inform us that there was no menue that night but only two dished to choose from: Pork or Beef. Opted for the Beef, simply delightful! Great cooking at a reasonable price. Decoration and atmosphere are great, very cozy. Al is such a nice guy, joined us at the table from time to time to see if we enjoyed our stay. Finished with a whisky on the house and some great advice for must-see-dublin-locations. I noticed they served delicious-looking cakes to other guests, unfortunately there was no room left for desserts on my end: D Check this place out, i’m sure you won’t be dissapointed!

Such an atmospheric, artsy café. Wooden furniture, pictures of nude men and icons of dapperness such as Sinatra abound, the tables are tiny, the menu is short but varied and its clientele equally colourful. We were welcomed with a hearty hello, and fed wonderful cake and coffee. Oh Stage Door, you’re a rare gem.

We’d headed out for Sunday breakfast to another location nearby and were stuffed around by the staff there being unsure whether they wanted to feed us or not — so we left. We ended up here, and by the time we did I was super grumpy and starving hungry but thankfully we were warmly greeted, shown to a table and quickly given menus. And yes, they were serving breakfast — hurrah! Stage Door Café is worth visiting for the décor alone — it’s very Parisian(I imagine) and I felt like I’d been transported back in time to the 20s. There’s sweet small booths, large full length windows and a bit of a rustic feel(without being crappy). The guys running this place were simply brilliant — friendly, warm and welcoming and never far away from grabbing you another drink or dishing up your food. I went for the full Irish breakfast at € 9.95 and while I’m not going to say it was the best breakfast ever, it certainly got me over my grumpiness and filled up my belly. The bacon was that dirty kind of bacon you get in a fry up where everything has been cooked on the grill together but it still tasted pretty damn good. I’m not sure I’d come back here to eat, but if you’re in the area and looking for a smile and someone cool to hang out, you should definitely swing by here.

Super friendly staff and a quaint little spot, they have outdoor seating which is where we decided to sit. The menu isn’t large but it had the staples for breakfast and lunch. I had the Brie, tomato, and bacon sandwich which was tasty. He had the cheddar and bacon omelet which he enjoyed. The food wasn’t the best I’ve had but certainly far from bad. the mocha and the latte were very good. I found the prices to be very reasonable and it’s in a super convened location for us, right next to our hotel(the Clarence).

Amazing little place with great coffee and super cool, funny and sexy staff, they are Italian and ooze that cool passionate vibe as soon as you walk in the door, especially through their big welcoming smiles. This place is cosy and has no wifi on purpose in order to get people to talk to each other. This place really is a little gem and their cakes and muffins and cookies are scrummy. The décor is quirky and lovely and even a trip to the toilet is a delightful discovery. But maybe I will scrap this review because I don’t want loads of people to rush here as I really enjoy curling up on the seats with a book and enjoying the chill and great vibe.

The atmosphere is great, it reminds me of those slightly manky french brasseries you’d find hidden away in a small street. The food was tasty but had a ‘questionable’ twang to it, which I like sometimes. The staff was exceptionally friendly and naturally familiar. I would definitely come back for the atmosphere, not for the food!

This is so far my favourite«Salon de thé» in Dublin. I am originally from Paris and have spent numerous hours in quest for the best places. Now, because the terrace was convenient for my smoker friend, we decided to drink at the Stage Door rather than the café next to it. What a surprise. Great espresso, good tea, very good pieces of cakes. We were outside so we didnt have a good look of the establishment. I came back a couple of weeks later and absolutely fell in love this time while inside the café. The music, the LOVELY and caring staff, the delicious irish breakfast, the awesome pieces of cake… We simply had a great time, and will be back, again, because this is a place with heart(good people, good food, good music).

It’s a handy spot due to location, so I have been here a couple of times purely out of convenience and the Joy of Cha was closing for the day(Real dearth of cafes staying open past 6/7pm in Dublin — even in the summer!) Re service we’ve always had to walk up to the counter to order instead of anyone coming up to the table. Even at the counter we weren’t acknowledged for a good 5 mins before we placed orders. Had tea and apple pie. Apple pie was OK, the usual mediocre stuff and the tea is fine too. The place is very cute though, lovely brick walls and open windows. But that’s about it.

We strolled to a café prior that was open and told tersely when we asked for coffee, «We don’t open for another 20mins.» It was 9am!!! Are you kidding me?! Sometimes I am in awe of the stupidity of business owners who don’t exploit the obvious — the morning office crowd. We went to where the huge rainbow flag waved in the summer sun, it was calling us like sirens on a caffeine rock and we succumbed. Really cute spot, charming waiter. The windows open out to the cobble stones of Temple bar. I must go there for breakfast this weekend. Only downfall was when my roomie spilt her coffee down her brilliant white dress — yeah the scene was not pretty, I don’t do well in situations like that so I just tutted and sidestepped away from her anger. But the waiter stepped up. He got her a tea-towel and let her go into the kitchen to douse the stain in water — it was fun to watch, like a mini wet t-shirt competition but with a really angry competitor in a very expensive dress, so I took that as a cue to stay silent and not holler inappropriate things.

I like The Stage Door, it has a bit of Parisian feel to it, and the erotic artwork is interesting to say the least, but not a huge fan of the prices. The ciabattas cost about seven euro, which I think is a bit cheeky, as while quite nice, I don’t think you can justify the cost. Had the carrot cake which was moist and sweet, but again, for 4.50 you were given a mean slice. Staff are lovely, and if I was to go out to tea with my mother or sister, I would certainly bring them here, but unfortunately, just too expensive to make it a regular occurrence.
