Very nice cheap asian restaurant with a different twist to it. Never tried Mongolian before but will go for anything barbeque and I loved it. They have a buffet-all you can eat type of setting so you can go yourself and choose whatever you like into your bowl and they will cook it heavenly for you. The hot-spicy range was very good so I didn’t have to suffer while eating(yes, I am a mild one). Staff is really nice and kindly answered all my questions which I am sure they have heard before.

Really like this place! Under € 10 you create your own dishes and it’s basically all you can eat! The Chiefs prepare everything infringement of you! It’s a handy place to go to where your not breaking the bank! I’ve always been happy with the service here!

the concept is great and Ive been to several similar in other parts of the world but as one previous reviewer pointed out the not changing different knives when using different meats worried me also so I opted not to eat but to stay and have a drink and pay for my son and friends instead. They didn’t care, not many poor college students do. I however have food allergies and cant eat some meat so the idea of being sick just didn’t do it for me. It is as the reviews say cheap if you arrive for lunch and it gets busy so it can take a while. Nice to visit but I wont be back. Its typical Ireland also. This type of restaurant is an all you can eat buffet in any other country Ive been and yes for 5 also. Ireland is always more expensive.

My favourite cheap lunch in Dublin. You fill your bowl with veggies and noddles(expert tip: leave the noddles til last!), take a bowl of meat/seafood, add the spices and sauce and it’s fried in front of you. Ta-da! One cheap, filling and tasty lunch!

Surprised to find a Mongolian BBQ place in Dublin, and it being right in the middle of Temple Bar. Can get busy, recommend reservations for seating after 7pm. They have an early dinning special up to 7pm, reduced price on buffet. Standard selection of veg(spinach, broccoli, mushrooms, peppers, tofu, carrots, watercress) and proteins(beef, pork, chicken, seafood mix, and a tandoori beef mix). They have a regular lo mein and rice noodle options. They have a range of spices for your use(Chinese 5 spice, coriander, curry, chili) which is a nice feature although the sauce options are a bit lacking. They organize many orders on the grill and pump them out fast, so not long wait time even when busy. They have some other appetizer and dessert options available a la carte in case the buffet isn’t enough. Definitely recommend stopping in.

I really like the concept, and the food was good, but I have to say it’s not really my sort of thing. You have a buffet of uncooked meats and lots of vegetables and sauces. You put it all in a bowl, and then they cook it for you in front of you. The food is cheap, and it is cooked quickly and you will likely eat a lot. However, I must say that while watching them make the food, I also got to see that 1) They use the same big knives for everything. Meaning if you have allergies or don’t eat a certain type of meat or are vegetarian, your food is definitely contaminated. 2) You can see around the grill and quite honestly, there’s a place where they drop all the waste around it and it looks really gross. So, nice experience, but not coming back.

Super fun, busy, decent and good place. The cheesecake in a jar is absurdly good. The bbq is good, if not transcendent, with lots of yummy sauces and veggies. No matter how busy it seems the line always moves fast. Get there early for cheaper all you can eat. Great location. Recommended.

LOVETHISPLACE! Been to Mongolian Barbeque on numerous occasions. If you are a broke student like myself you will appreciate good, relatively healthy inexpensive food in the city centre area! For those who haven’t been you have a buffet of ingredients ranging from sauces, meats, veg and spices to choose from and upon deciding you hand these to someone who cooks it in a few minutes while you wait and there are also a number of sauces available afterwards. Furthermore the added complimentary rice and water makes the meal more cost efficient for those who are looking for an affordable bit of grub! For the price of € 5.90 for lunch you can’t go wrong! Added to this are the lovely staff and nice atmosphere along with the easy to get to location(temple bar).

A good bargain for a whole lot of food if you can manage to come in for lunch or the early bird hours. I missed both of these deals and ended up paying the full fare for the dinner buffet. Still a pretty good deal considering the amount of food that you can get – which is as much as you can stuff yourself with, but the overall experience was nothing to shout about. As much of a glutton as I might be, I couldn’t eat more than two bowls from here. There’s something wonky about how the food cooks on the giant flat top. The noodles and meat become extremely dry while the veggies hardy even cook. My onions and some of the other veggies still had a crunch to them while my meats turned into jerky! I thought that this was because I didn’t sauce my first bowl up enough, but even after drenching my second bowl in ladles of sauce, no bueno. Perhaps it’s just my experience, but I also didn’t like how the chef ended up cutting the noodles in my bowl into 1 inch lengths while cooking. The staff is pretty meh too, not unfriendly but I wouldn’t go so far as to say that the service here is good. We came in early to a relatively empty restaurant and were still between two groups which made for very cramped tables! I could barely squeeze back into my seat without making a spectacle, and this is coming from a small girl! On this plus side, there’s a whole lot of variety to choose from on the food line. Lots of selections of veggies and meats to mix and match and customize your meal to your favorite tastes. The sauce and seasoning bar is especially impressive, with over a dozen offerings and tons of possible unique and tasty combinations. For € 15 for dinner, 3 stars. At lunch prices, I’d give it a 4.

Full? Stuffed? I couldn’t eat anymore if my life depended on it? These could all accurately describe me after eating dinner here. The ambiance is much cooler on the inside than it looks through the window, and if it looks crowded when you first walk in — there is much more seating in the back! Which I prefer, with the old move posters cleanly plastered in a collage on the green wall and round string lights above your head. The idea of this place is great — you walk in, get seated, then go to a raw food bar where you pick your ingredients, then your spices, then your sauces, then make it to the grill where you hand the chefs your raw bowl and they cook it right before your eyes in real time. The flavors of all of the food is delicious. Two bowls in and you’re feeling comfortable. The only thing about coming to eat here when it’s dinner time is the waiting. It does get a bit uncomfortably crowded at the grill and you might feel rushed to finish your first bowl so you can get a second. I suggest, because the food is actually so delicious you wouldn’t want to not eat here is come when it’s not busy earlier in the day or go with the intention that you will be enjoying yourself and chatting and waiting around some, then it doesn’t seem so bad. I live above the place so the waitress was super nice and gave is the early bird price for being«neighbors» and was overall friendly, the only complaint is we never got a water refill which would of been appreciated after some of the spices we ate.

I really enjoy going here. It’s so clean and the food is a good, healthy alternative to what’s on offer elsewhere. You’re able to tailor your tastes into what you put in your bowl. And of course the«all you can eat» part is superb. I’ve been many times in the past year and have not yet been disappointed. The one thing that could be improved is sauces. Sometimes the dish can go a little dry so a nicer after-frying sauce selection wouldn’t go amiss.

The buffet bowl concept intrigued me but I was pretty disappointed in the end. I went for the € 15 all you can eat — decent tastes but I would be kind of concerned over hygiene. Probably wouldn’t go back but worth the visit. Try to avoid the toilets also… worse than a nightclub’s toilets when I was there

I need to say that I loved the place. I was very curious about the Mongolian barbecue after meeting someone from Mongolia and I just had to try it. The place itself is pretty simple inside. At first I didn’t know it works but basically: grab a bowl, fill it and hand it to the guy at big hub. Plenty of options of sauces. I did not know which one was the sauces I liked so I just tried them all haha The guy then cooked it for you and you can watch the whole process while you wait. Best part: you can refill your bowl, as many times as you can. I really like the experience, the food is amazing and my signature spices sauces I created just added to it.

Was ok. Missing flavour. Hard to get enough vegetables in the small bowls. Meet was a medium quality. The best part of my meal was the taffy that came with the check.

Friendly staff, cheap as hell, full control over your meal’s taste, what more could you possibly ask for? As a student, this is the kind of eating establishment that I LIVE for. I go here almost three times a week for the lunch special, and I’ve zero regrets. Go here now if you haven’t already, you’ll have a great time.

Cheap and tasty! If you go between 11:30 and 4pm the lunch is 5.90 €. You have to pick a bowl and put a lot of stuff on it with noodles and pick some type of meat. They cook it and serve it with rice. An excellent price-amount-taste ratio!

Cheap and simple, this sums up the Mongolian Bbq. There’s a buffet with an assortment of vegetables, noodles, some sauces and spices and some meats and shrimps. And then it’s up to you to fill your little bowl up as much as you like or you phisically can — you only have one go, so you need to get it right the first time. I’ve been instructed that the best way to get value for your money is starting with the vegetables on the bottom of the bowl, press them a bit, add some more until it’s filed to the top, press a bit more, add the sauces and spices and only at the end throw the noodles on top. You can then pick one of the small bowls with protein and add some more sauce and spices to it. Present your mighty creations to the cook manning the bbq and watch while they’re prepared for you. On your table you’ll have plenty of rice — yes, noodles and rice — and water. That’s a filling and inexpensive lunch right there for 5.90 €. It won’t be your best experience ever with«asian» food — notice the inverted commas there — but it’s also not too shabby. At least you get to choose what you want going into your plate and you can only blame yourself if the flavour combination is disastrous. That being said, the sauces are probably the lowest point of the whole experience, super watery. The room is not very well lit and the staff has that nice-enough attitude that, while it won’t make you want to never go back, doesn’t really warm your heart either.
