I loved this place so much. It’s in an old Kyoto style shop building with all the wooden beams exposed, and a tiny garden out back near the(adorable) bathroom. Worth visiting just for that. Food was meh but the baked goods are ridiculously delicious.

A truly«western style» café in the wonderful city of kyoto. I say«truly» western because the interior is gorgeously decorated, the coffee is top notch, and the waitress had such an awful attitude that for just a second I thought I was back home in NYC. This was my only unpleasurable experience(service wise) in all of japan. Side note to couples, if one of you likes coffee and the other does not be prepared to pay a «service charge» just for sitting in the café(what?) Thinking about getting coffee to-go to get around this? Nope, sorry, no to-go orders either. I would recommend just going to «%Arabica» instead to be perfectly honest.

Gorgeous café near Nijo Castle. They open at 11:30am and though Unilocal says the are closed on Monday– they are not. The menu is limited to lunch sets and a few sandwiches during lunch hours 11:30−3. After lunch they have many more sandwiches and salads to offer. The café is beautiful, filled with plants, books, mid century furniture and a second floor.

It’s a popular and famous local café! You can find something about this café in some books or magazine specialized café in Kyoto. It seems almost all guide books pick up this café! This café is renovated Machiya to a café and inside of this café they have big walls of book shelves and large table that seems to be good for studying. They are contribute really cozy place to us and great for reading books with cool music. You can stay as long as you want because some place are having purposely uncomfortable chairs. They’re not liking for you to stay longer. But this place totally opposites. And here is one more good thing is that they are opening by 24:00. Normally café is closing earlier. If you are a bookworm and want to catch up on reading with cozy feeling, you should drop in here! But only one thing that I mentioned that is price. Everything is more expensive than others.
