Best camera store I’ve ever been to. Don’t waste your time in Akasusa if you’re looking for great professional grade gear. Come here! The staff was exceptional, friendly, and professional. The clerk said he only spoke a little English, but answered all of my questions no problem!

Awesome spot for used camera gear. Prices are very reasonable and they do tax refunds on the spot. One of the employees spoke great English so communication wasn’t an issue in the least bit. Several floors with all different types gear and definitely worth checking out. I went to 6 different shops in the area and this was my favorite.

Love this place! Map camera is one of my favorite stores to visit in Japan (and that’s saying a lot) and a must-​visit for any camera connoisseur, from amateur to professional. First off: the inventory. Map has new and used cameras, lenses and accessories — all organized by brand neatly displayed on different floors of a building in conveniently located in Shinjiku. Here, you’ll even find rare, extremely high end, or hard-​to-​get (in the US) equipment… Some that you knew you needed and some that you had no idea you needed :(
Second, the prices. Tax free helloooo! Since many camera companies are based in or have manufacturing capabilities in Japan, the prices here are crazy good (unless it’s Leica… Then lol)!! There was a Canon Mark II for 800 USD! 800! AaAhh! I pine! I perish!
Third, the location. Even if you have issues finding the product you’re looking for, there are several other options in close proximity for cameras, accessories, lenses, and bags… aka Yodabashi if you know what I’m saying.
Finally, the staff is so helpful and great for setting up any of that tax refund magic you might be looking to get. They’re also helpful in helping you find any products you might be looking for.
All in all… Love this place and will be back :3
