Japan is FULL of waffle treats everywhere. Mr. Waffle in Shinjuku is one of the first places we stopped after a long flight and it did not disappoint. There were SO many flavors… green tea with red bean, chocolate chip, almond, plain, earl grey etc. It’s not too sweet and more on a buttery side. There will probably be a line, but it goes by fast so don’t be scared away from the long line. My favorite was the green tea with red bean. They also have coffee if you want to eat it with coffee.

Delicious waffles with several different flavors, including plain, apple, chocolate, cinnamon. Great snack while walking around at night. The place is really hard to find, though. Look for it at the south-east entrance to Lumine2. When you start getting close, just follow your nose!

great waffles! I don’t know if this was the one I went to. I think I went to one below Ikebukuro? Eh probably the same. Great waffles! Chewy, warm, not too sugary, lots of options. I wish this was in america or something. that and mister donut. somehow these places sometimes can burn you by just looking good but taste being eh — but these were pretty good

The sweet smell of waffles lured us in as we were walking past Mr. Waffles! We got a couple to share — namely the earl grey flavour and plain. The prices are very fair and range from 160 – 200 yen. I love everything earl grey and this waffle didn’t carry enough earl grey flavour in my opinion. Plain was just fine. I wished the waffles itself were hotter and crispier. They were just okay. Not terrible, but not something i’d recommend or probably have again.

Mr. Waffle is a must-try in Tokyo! It’s located outside of Lumine, and you will find people lining up for the warm and yummy waffle! Even though there is a line for it, it won’t take long. It was just about 5 minutes wait for us. I tried the Chocolate Fondant Waffle, which is the seasonal winter special. You have melted chocolate with your warm waffle. I scooped more melted chocolate with my waffle, which was extremely sweet and flavorful. I also had the Uji Green Tea Adzuki Beans Waffle. Green Tea and Red Beans are just the perfect combination for everything!

I love waffles and I especially love liege waffles. I thought this would be close but it wasn’t. I tried the plain and it was okay but not the liege waffles that I’m used to. For 160 yen, the price was worth trying. This was a great snack for the walk back to the hotel.

i went here to compare it to manneken and i LOVE these places. i thought about bringing it to the US. they are NOTHING like anything in the US. they are based on the liege waffle. just google it. a few places in the US do it but the dough is always raw in the middle and just gross and not as good. both are so fluffy compared to the pathetic US versions

We were on the way to take a train ride back to Tokyo and saw a long line and decided to check out what it was about. The number 1 choice was plain, 2 being chocolate chip. We decided to try the almond and chocolate chip waffle. While it was somewhat cold, we really enjoyed the waffles. Between the almond and chocolate chip we had, we enjoyed the almond one more. Glad we tried it out.

Belgian waffles are something of a luxury in the United States, and so it was something of a pricing relief to see this liege waffle stand selling waffles for under $ 2. The waffles are warmed when you order them(cashier asks whether you’re eating right away or not) and I can definitely recommend the on the spot dining approach. This particular branch is also very conveniently located adjacent to the Shinjuku train station. If you have to be commuting to work, you might as well be commuting with a waffle! Other seasonal varieties seemed to include chocolate chip, chocolate, and Earl Grey tea.
