Just ate here when I first got here. Spicy curry, obviously a plus. Choose lower tiers of spice, 2 or 3. 5 is more than the conventional spice Americans put on their food.

This place is really good but they really need to update their Unilocal page because I was really disappointed to find out that they don’t deliver even it says they do on here

Fast, cheap and delicious! Garlic cheese nan bread is really good side to any of the entrées, Chicken cutlet is really good my fav so far. Dine in or to go this place is the bomb for a quick lunch or dinner!

After working hours I would usually just get something to drink then after hanging out In the bar I would like to find food that is fast, convenient, delicious, and of course hot(especially during the cold season!) I love the service here. The Japanese people are really nice and the environment is welcoming. Highly recommend to everyone who is willing to try Japanese curry! :)

There is noting quite like Japanese curry! This delicious thick gravy has a flavor of its own. It’s a small restaurant so don’t go there with a stroller. If you can, get it to-go. It’s good no matter where you eat it. I love this place and I’m so happy it’s right next to the base. If you need a quick meal you won’t go wrong with a basic chicken cutlet curry. If you are adventurous, there’s plenty of other toppings to try.

Can you really go wrong with Japanese curry rice that not only has that fast-food appeal, but is totally customizable! Of course not! While it’s a totally different take as opposed to the famous Naval curry, it’s well worth it. You can order from one of the pre-set dishes, or you can choose a base, along with your spice level, rice content, and from a huge variety of toppings-including various meats, vegetables, and others ranging from garlic or even as far as a seasonal quail egg. Sides include salads, naan bread, and even their«standalone» fried chicken! Of course, you can get drinks ranging from a Coke to a can of beer. The locally exclusive and seasonal curries are different, but are worth trying at least once, such as their take on Yokosuka Naval curry and even the Summer vegetable curry! Since they opened a second shop that’s very close to the U.S. Base, it has a regular and frequent clientele. They have an English menu and take U.S. Dollars as well as Japanese Yen. If you’re looking for a quick, hearty meal, then you can’t go wrong with CoCo Ichibanya!

I usually go here when I’m in a hurry and need something quick. I’ve also found that CoCo’s takeout container is the best one, since it’s a nice deep container, which can hold both the curry and the rice separately until you’re ready to start eating. Most the staff here speak English very well due to the largely American customer base. My motto here is go big or go home. It’s probably not that heathy, so if you’re gonna go for it, go for it. I usually get 3 servings of protein(double chicken and scrambled eggs is the norm for me), 300g of rice, and level 2, which is slightly spicy. I would give this place 5 stars, but to me, homemade curry is better.

First it’s a Japanese chain that is very common and is a milder thicker take onIndian curry. The key thing to order here are the specialties of the month. The Katsura(cutlets) are generally really generic unless you get one of the seasonal specials. Do not feel limited to one item in your curry — it is to order. I always get mine with stewed pork and vegetables with Katsura. Some people add cheese or egg to that as well. Japanese home made curry — which this is a fast food version of is a thick hearty stew with a meat and vegetables. I like rice so I always go for 400 grams, the regular is 300g. With a spice level of 1 – 10, I go for 4, enough for a decent heat. To beat the crowds — I usually order take out. Very convenient, super fast. The only thing that needs to be better to make this a clutch fast food stop is better nan!

A common chain around Japan, CoCo’s is popular amongst the many Americans working in the Navy Base nearby. As a result, if you go during lunch, it can occasionally get a little busy. Specializing in Japanese cutlet curries, you can choose the amount of rice you get as well as the spice level(ranging from none to 10). As a warning, I normally get a level 2 and even that has some serious spice. I would not recommend getting a 10 unless you’ve tried this before and know you like it. You can also order a variety of toppings like cheese, spinach, more meat, etc. The pork or chicken cutlets are pretty standard but they also offer seafood options, vegetable options, and occasional specials. The cutlets aren’t the best quality(the chicken looks like it was probably frozen or processed) but it gets the job done when you are feeling like some Japanese curry.
