This was a fun place for dinner and close to the Naval base. I don’t like my meat rare so was hisitant at first. The food is served on a hot pan so I was able to cook it as long as I wanted. There was plenty of food so I wasn’t hungry after and was a fun experience. My daughter has mentioned that it can get really busy as seating is limited. We didn’t have that issue and the staff was friendly and helpful.

The other reviews say it all, very good food and fast service. If you go for lunch you might have to wait for a seat especially if you are with a group.

Ahhhh, this is one of the best restaurants I’ve been to here in Yokosuka! We got seated pretty quickly, but keep in mind that one of the seats by the front door is unavailable due to the fact that it’s right in front of the cash register. Lol I ordered a half steak, half hamburg and it came with a ton of bean sprouts(looooove) and some other veggies plus a salad. It basically cooks while it’s still on the hot plate so be careful as it splatters everywhere! We did what we saw some other people doing and pulled up our paper to shield ourselves. The steak and the hamburg were both delicious! One of the best that I’ve tasted over here. I also really like that it comes on a teppanyaki plate, sizzling and hot. Lol The waitress spoke some English but she had a hard time communicating with us. I tried to speak in Japanese for her but she seemed intent on speaking in her broken English.

For what it is, I love Pepper Lunch. Quick and tasty, you’ll never go wrong there. Not a five-star kind of place since it’s basically fast food, but still it is VERY good fast food.

This is a chain of restauraunts in which beef is cooked on your hot tray with rice. Its pretty cheap and fast. This is definately one of those places you want to try and unforunately, if you go at lunch you might be waiting for a seat. I took my co-worker there two weeks ago when he first got to Japan. So far, he has told me he has been there 6 times since then with his family. The kid loves it and the wife likes it — so I assume its a good place to bring a family. Its a counter style restaurant with a very simple menu. The instructions on the napkin thing has pictures and is easy to follow. I come here when I don’t know what to do and I need something with relative speed. For the price it beats out any brown paper bag lunch and it definately hits the spot.

Out of all the places I ate at in Yokosuka, I can honestly say that Pepper Lunch was my favorite! What I love most about this place is how delicious and cheap the food is! I agree with one of the Unilocalers calling it «fast food steak» because of how fast you get your meal. However, I believe that the taste and quality far exceeds fast food expectations. The cool thing about this place also is that you order through a machine… just make sure you put your yen first! Make sure you use the paper thats given as a splatter guard!

My first time here, I got the steak. It’s cheap, fast and very good. I’ll definitely be swinging back in here sometimes.

This place is amazing! I affectionately call it «fast food steak» You can get all kinds of steak for varying prices. You can spend 800 yen or 2000 yen on a single person’s order. You can have up to 1 lb of steak(about 1800 yen)! Comes with a side of rice as part of the price. You can add on a soda or drink water for free. The meat comes out raw but on a hot skillet and you cook it and eat it. It does not take long to cook and on the off chance your food does not get cooked enough you can ask them to reheat the skillet. Very delicious! They have 2 sauces you can use or salt and pepper if you are like me. Very casual atmosphere, delicious food at a great price. If you want some steak and don’t want to spend too much come here! They also have skillets with just beef sliced up and rice. A lot of the Japanese people order this dish instead of one of the steaks. It comes with rice in the skillet and you mix it all together to cook. The staff is very kind and sometimes they give you a free drink coupon(with purchase) for your next visit!

A co-worker brought me here. Glad he did. I would have been lost figuring how to order. There’s a machine to the right of the entrance. Put your Yen in. Pick your meal. Hand the receipt to the chef. Take a seat. The restaurant seats about 18 it can get crowded easily. I used to hate places where I have to cook my own food. Here It’s too easy. Your food comes on a hot plate. I ordered a hamburger meat dish with an over easy egg and bean sprouts. Takes a minute or two to cook. They give you tongs to flip over the meat. Wait until the meal is cooked before adding the sauces. You don’t wan your hot plate to cool off too early. The meal was delicious and inexpensive. I like my meat medium rare so it doesn’t take long at all. We were in and out within 10 – 15 minutes. Will be happy to come back. Side note: do what the locals do. When you first receive the hot plate, hold the place mat up to block the hot oil from splashing onto your clothes.
