Tsunami is an American style burger restaurant located in Yokusaka. It reminds me of Fuddruckers and Slaters 50⁄50 in San Diego. Once you chose what hamburger you want you can then order the half pound or the quarter pound. The pictures in the menus don’t do the actual hamburgers any justice. I ordered the half pound cheeseburger and it was great. This is a nice spot to sit down and enjoy a very good hamburger.

Tourist restaurant with ok food. But the service here is crap, they will seat you and then ignore you sometimes unless you yell or go get the waitress. Last time I went they seated me upstairs then left me there until I eventually just got up and walked out because I was pissed. Food takes forever if you do order.

Food is decent but has gone down hill since navy burger. If you have time to kill you might be able to eat here but if you are on your lunch break you might starve. Wait staff are not that great with customer service

I only came here for the carne asada tacos. I checked their website, Unilocal, and even Foursquare to make sure this was a place that I’d like to try for their tacos. The hubbs and I got there at 7:55pm, at which point the waitress told us last order for food was at 8:00pm. Well, okay so as we were getting seated, we rushed through the menu and figured out what to order. The waitress comes back and I order 3 carne asada tacos, which were unavailable… She tells me something about how they don’t serve Mexican food after certain hours(?); I was feeling too rushed to listen to her. Anyway, I decided on the Avocado Cheeseburger quarter size(¼ lb) and the hubbs settled for the regular size(½ lb) Hawaiian BBQ Burger. They don’t do combos after 17:00 so we got fries separately(one order is one plate of fries). My Avocado CB was okay, could have been better BUT it had a ton of avocado. I got tired of eating it midway through. The hubbs liked the Hawaiian BBQ Burger though, even though it doesn’t look like much. I miiiiight be back to try their carne asada tacos, but I just hate that they don’t bother putting that they don’t serve Mexican food after a certain time or whatever their restriction on Mexican food is. I only came here because the photos of their tacos looked pretty good. I also thought this place closed at 10pm, but I guess the food part is different and it only applies to the bar.

I was skeptical but glad we tried it. Probably the closest to American/Mexican food around Yokosuka. Prices were good food was good. The only thing I didn’t like was the food didn’t come at the same time for everyone. My wife was done eating before I got my plate. But food was hot and fresh.

Tsunami is a tourist attraction burger shop that carries locally themed burgers like the GW burger, 7th Fleet burger, and others. If you are expecting the best American burger of your life — be prepared to be disappointed. If you want a decent stab at an American staple with the best of white bread buns, try it. I had the GW burger. A 550 gram(1.1 pound burger) with egg. It was not a seasoned meat, so it tasted like beef. The over easy egg was done well with two slabs of bacon. It was on par with a five guy’s or Hardee’s burger. It’s not ground breaking and you pay for your tourist burger.

Tsunami serves overpriced, bland burgers yet with Bob Sapp’s mug pasted out front(and good burgers being relatively new phenomenon in Japan), it has become pretty popular. Burgers are less than mediocre as is the service. Save your time and money.
