What a lovely place. All of Tulum is beautiful and this place was yet another gem that we found. We were seated on the terrace overlooking a beautiful beach at sunset. The service was great(our waiter was Jacobo) and the Thai food was authentic. The Buddhist shrine on the way in is a really special touch too. What more could you want? If we ever make it back to Tulum, and we hope we do, we will definitely be back.

Beautiful location, patio on the water. Great cocktails(but not much liquor used as most in Tulum). Thai food was good — about like most normal places in Houston — not great. Extremely reasonable prices and fair exchange if you use dollars.

Great place if you want a view of the ocean I got the guacamole which was delicious and margaritas during their happy hour special the price is really good for what you get anywhere else and this is coming from a local New Yorker!

We thought we’d take a break from town and have dinner on the beach. We’d heard good things about Mezzanine and love Thai food. Unfortunately the wind was so strong coming off the water we ended up sitting inside with a partial view of the ocean. The dishes we had at Mezzanine were tasty. The food is authentic but we also get great Thai at home. I found it a bit overpriced and was not thrilled when we asked for water and they opened a $ 7 bottle of something imported. Should’ve had another beer.

Food left quite a bit to be desired. The fish was greasy and the spring rolls were also greasy. Extremely fattening and could have been more flavorful. Cute spot however, and fantastic servers. However, wish we’d gotten other items, so I wouldn’t have ended up with a belly ache from all the trans fats. Drinks were weak

Very good. A meal out on the terrace is a sight to behold. Just be ready for some slightly darker than intimate dining after nightfall(out on the very edge of the outdoor area can be dark… so dark you cant see your plate well… can be tricky when trying to navigate around those insanity peppers ocasionally found in Thai food ;-7); and the potential for a stiff onshore breeze(wine glasses less than half full can be tippy!). Crab Won Ton and Crispy Money Bags were super tasty to start. We had the Drunken Noodles(added some chicken but i found the balance off… maybe 3 morsels in there?) and the Shrimp Cashew for entrees and found them flavorful. Helpful staff. Cards or cash accepted and no servicio included so make sure to tip.

On a 6 day trip to Tulum, we ended up coming back to Mezzanine 3 times. That says a lot! The Thai basil margaritas are unlike anything I’ve ever had. They are flavorful and refreshing and just plain delicious. We’ve also eaten here and really enjoyed the food but honestly kept coming back for the margaritas and the beautiful views. See you on our next trip Mezzanine!

The food and service was excellent however the portions should be a little larger for the price. Amazing sea view at outside tables. Inside tables can be too loud with unnecessary background music. We had some dumplings and money bags as an appetizer. I wish appetizer was based on the number of portions. We were a table 4 and the dumplings come in a portion of three. Why not price 3 dumplings 60 peso, 4 dumplings 80 peso 5 dumplings 100 peso. People like to share appetizers. We had Pad Thai, a chicken pineapple red curry, and flank steak. Parking can be difficult.

If you are looking for a place to have lunch(or dinner) and want a great view. This is your place. Mezzanine is right on the beach and access to it can either be from the road or from the beach(up stairs) the small patio area has 6 tables that have great ocean views with a few other tables set back. We were quickly seated and we were able to score one of the primo tables right at the edge of the patio overlooking the ocean. Service was quick. We had ordered some Margaritas and albeit they weren’t the best drinks we’ve had they were decent. We order the Crab Wontons which were very tasty, and then had the Pad Thai and Pineapple and Mango Curry. Rice was included with the meals. All were very good. Portion sizes were such that this was enough for lunch for us. For Tulum, Mezzanine is definitely not a cheap place to go. As there are many inexpensive places. However, what you have to realize is that you are paying for the view. And it is a SPECTACULAR view. Since you are paying for the views, my recommendation would be to go during daylight hours. The food is good, but the added expense isn’t warranted if you can view the ocean.

Mezzanine is one of the elite few spots I’e been to that when giving it a 5 star rating it still seems unfair. The five of us showed up for lunch and sat on their deck that sits just above the beach in Tulum. If you’ve never been to Tulum then all I can say here is that it’s a paradise of sorts. The water was a shade a blue that I personally haven’t witnessed ever in my life, and the views up and down the beach are probably on best selling post cards. What I’m saying is that at Mezzanine you can sit on their wonderful deck, enjoy amazing drinks, and even more amazing views. Upon arriving, our hosts gestured us to take any available seating and initially we took one table, but after ordering the wait staff insisted we take another table to make room for our food. The service wasn’t the swiftest, but they were busy and the ambiance of the setting will have you a bit more patient than you normally might be. Now, don’t judge me, but yeah if you do it’s okay, but at this point we had been in Mexico for a week and I wanted a good old fashioned cheeseburger. I know, I know, who goes to Mexico and gets a cheeseburger? Then again, if you’ve read any of my past reviews, you know I’d be that guy. Witness me. I ordered the Aussie burger that comes with a lot of stuff on it, but I asked for just bacon and cheese and they were happy to meet that request. What arrived was exactly as I had ordered, but the server was insistent on checking with me to make sure I was satisfied. To my surprise, it was really good and would compete with any top end burger from my native land of Washington D.C., USA. The drinks continued to flow, the sunset, and the moon over the water was beyond what I could describe. At one point I wandered over to the other side of Mezzanine(30 or so paces, not a huge place) and lounged in these hammocks that hung right above the beach. I have imagined such places but never thought I’d find myself in one. If you’re someone looking to take someone special to you somewhere and your’e reading this, you’ve found your spot. If you’re looking to have afternoon or evening drinks someplace that words are unfit for, yeah, this is your spot too. Godspeed brave travelers.

During our stay in Tulum we enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner here and were never disappointed. The apps were fantastic especially the guacamole and the Thai Money Bags. We also sampled the curry which was delicious. The breakfast was always a great way to start the day and the Huevos Rancheros were some of the best I’ve ever had. Service was prompt and friendly. Would definitely recommend this place for any meal. Also the happy hour from 1 to 4 with two for one margaritas is sure to heighten any afternoon on the beach. The views from their patio offer a look not only at the white sandy beach but of the beautiful Caribbean.

Great ambiance overlooking the water. The food is delicious. The service attentive but not too much attention. Perfect at any time. And definitely follow the spicy indicators on the menu — the spiciness is not watered down like the u.s. Happy dining!

Beautiful spot for a Saturday lunch except of a music band which ruined the tranquillity and magic of a place. Food was excellent. Service was not really good as they forget to bring our second part of mains and we had to spent more than 2.5 hours in the restaurant. But they were friendly and helpful. I guess it happens in the high season. Food was very tasty. I loved the crab and shrimps wontons, green shrimp curry, vegetable potato curry. Fish was not my favorite but it had lots of sweat flavors! And friend rice was not the best and reminds me a Chinese fried rice than the one I usually order when I am in Thailand. Anyway we were very happy with the food. Cocktails are good but didn’t really blow my mind. We ordered 3 desserts. The cheese cake was very unusual and it’s not for everybody I guess. Fried banana was ok but if you like this dish in the first place and the cookies with the ice cream were bit dry and needed bit of cream but I liked that dessert. Their ice cream is fantastic! I will definitely to come back to this restaurant and try more items!

4.5 stars. Fantastic spot right on the ocean. Service — 5 stars. Super nice people who are there to please and deliver smiles. Ambience — 5 stars. If you sit on the patio, the view is stunning. Come here on the afternoon where you could get 2 for 1 margarita and just let the time pass by. Lunch — 4.5 stars. The massaman curry is exceptional. But I would recommend chicken with this rather than beef given that the beef was a bit chewy(order the truly Thai version — it’s not too spicy). The Tom Yun Ka soup with coconut milk was solid as well. Breakfast — 3 stars. Solid but not the exceptional. I ordered the omelette with sausage and it’s quite greasy. Expresso was great. The thaimex juice was a bit too sweet for my taste. Come here for drinks and Thai food and you won’t be disappointed.

I was skeptical of a Thai place in Tulum, but I guess awesome beach vibes translate pretty well no matter what part of the world you’re in! The restaurant features tables on a patio with the most breathtaking ocean view. I recommend going for an early dinner so you can enjoy the vista and the sunset. On my second visit we were there later at night and though it was still awesome to hear the waves crashing as we enjoyed our meal, it was pretty dark out and it was hard to see our own food, let alone the view! The thing that stands out most to me about Mezzanine besides the view is the incredible service. There’s lots of friendly service in Tulum, but at Mezzanine I felt like I was at a fancy five star white tablecloth type place, though the food and prices were casual. Both of the servers I had were so sweet, so attentive, so classy. From the moment they greeted us with free shots to the last bite of dessert, it was a really special experience thanks to them. As for the food, it’s absolutely delicious. It’s definitely up there in the best Thai food I’ve had outside of Thailand. The menu is pretty straightforward, but the ingredients are incredibly fresh and the flavors are nice and bold. The crispy money bags were my favorite app, though the crab wontons were surprisingly delicious too. I’m used to cream cheesy and oily crab wontons from American Chinese food places, but this dish featured real, fresh crab and only a subtle hint of cheese. I had the Khao Pad Basil, a traditional fried rice, with fish for $ 225 pesos. It was a teeny bit salty, but the fish was incredible and I ate every last bite. The second time I was there I went with a classic pad thai with tofu, which I have to admit was more conventional but then again, I ordered a pretty conventional dish, so it was to be expected. My least favorite part of my visits there was the dessert. We went with a tropical cheesecake, but I was disappointed to find that this particular cheesecake didn’t come with a crust. And though the description said it was light and fluffy, it was actually quite dense, so it kind of tasted like cutting into a block of cream cheese with some fruit syrup on top. Hey, can’t win ‘em all I guess. Though my sweet tooth wasn’t satisfied with the dessert, it was over the moon when it came to cocktails. I highly recommend the Muay Thai cocktail, a mix of roasted pineapple infused rum, Aperol, mint, and orgeat. It was like a more refined, adult version of the flavor of a white Lifesaver. I absolutely loved it! View, service, food, drink, beach, waves. What more can you ask for?

Really great Thai food in an amazing location. Perched on a small cliff overlooking the ocean and kissed by refreshing sea breezes, Mezzanine was provided one of the most enjoyable meals we had in Tulum. Part of this was that it was great to eat something other than tacos. The other part of this was that the food was actually REALLY good. Fresh ingredients, bright spices, excellent service. Another plus about this place is that it’s very, very romantic. Lots of candles, indoors(so immune to the rain), and designed for couple-seating, we enjoyed the curries and noodles in relative quietude. The staff were excellent. A real high point of our trip.

Some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had AND a welcome break from coastal Mexican food. Very romantic and fun atmosphere, with attentive service. I had the Tom Kha to start and while different from what I am accustomed to, it was delicious! Thick, complex flavors and a nice portion for an appetizer. Next, I had the green curry, which was exactly what green curry is meant to me. Served with jasmine rice! Others at my table had the sweet potato yellow curry which was INCREDIBLE. warm, rich, sweet and spicy. I will get this when I come back!

Poor service, specially for kids We went there two days ago for a dinner and my two daughter would like to return in this place just because a charming, so little and people less pool. So, after visiting Tulum ruins, we come here for an informal lunch, my daughter would like to swim a little bit here and the ally good surprise was it’s only for the ten hotel guests whom are never used it! So charming attention for restaurant’s guests like us. So I really encourage them to change this bad habits with child and guests, it’s definitely not a customers and child’s friendly attitude.
