We first noticed Farteze when we were driving one day and couldn’t get past the name! What? It’s seriously unfortunate but it obviously did it’s job because it attracted our attention and we just had to go and ask them why they were called Farteze. Their reply was that it was just a bit of fun. We got past the strange name as soon as we tried the fish & chips. Ahhhhh fush & chups. They are my guilty pleasure but they are so good on days when you need a little bit of salt and grease in your system. The chips were just as good as any I’ve had in some top restaurants in Auckland. They were not to skinny, not too chunky, cooked perfectly with the ideal amount of salt. It’s easy to get chips wrong but these guys got it oh, so right. They also do pan fried fish, which is such a plus for me because I can’t have gluten which is in most batter.
