Papaya

Papaya restaurant is located in the old center of Warsaw, very close to the main street Nowy Swiat, so it’s very easy to find and get there. They have a great terrace in Foksal street, where you can dinner during summer nights. Very comfortable and refreshing.
The speciality of the house is thailand food. As I am into my personal research of places in warsaw to eat fish, I ordered here a steamed sea bass, cover with banana leaf, and accompanied with basmati white rice and a spicy oil. Cooking times were perfect, and it tasted awesome, so definitely it was a good choice. I think the price was around 44zl. While I was eating my sea bass, i can fell some thailand flavours, as they refill the fish with parsley and aromatic lemon grass, but still tasted like fish, so very well done.
Maybe you might be wondering why 3 stars? Thats for the serviced. It wasnt good at all. I’ve ordered some mineral water to drink, and it took so long to had it on my table. I had first my main dish, than my drink, so I felt the necessity to asked for it again. Then, when they brought the bill, we have been charged for the water more than it was written on the menu, and the wrost: it was STILL FILTER water not mineral one, so I couldnt understand why they charged this, if it is not whta we asked for, and it was just water from the sink. Of course we present our complaint to the waiter but he looked like he didn’t really care. So If you dont take care for your own customers, that are the ones who are going to come again, then the place doesn’t value at all.

Recommended little gem by the concierge at the Hotel Bristol. Down a small alley off the Main Street in the Warsaw shopping district. When you’ve had enough pig knuckle and sausage, this Asian/​Indian fusion eatery is an excellent alternative. The vegetable spring rolls, pad Thai, and red curry chicken were just what the food doctor ordered. They use fresh ingredients and white meat chicken. Nice bar and very contemporary but comfortable interior. Seating outside also available for some serious people watching.

Five stars Thai restaurant! This restaurant located in a little alley 10 steps away from Nowy Swiat is an absolute gem.
When talking about Thai food I have high expectations, and Papaya truly impressed us.
For a start they will bring you edamames to open your appetite. After courses you will have small lime sorbet to clean your palate (it’s been a long time since quality restaurants offer this. When it comes to food, traditions are much appreciated).
As a start we ordered spinach cold cream and a papaya salad. Exquisite! Beware of the spicy warnings in the menu, they are for real! Papaya salad was indeed spicy, but absolutely delicious.
As a main course I had a full sea bass. I confess I am not a fan of full fish but I must say this is one of the most tender and juicy fishes I have had. Highly recommended!!!

Let me first point out that this restaurant serves Asian cuisine from multiple places (Japan, Thai, Singapore, Vietnam, etc.). We came here on a Saturday night in December with a party of 3, and since this was a special occasion, we went all out, getting wine, appetizers, and several varied main courses. Everything was hot, fresh, and very tasty. The service from start to beginning was top notch, and the menu choices are wide-​ranging and interesting, with many of the typical favorites (e.g. pad Thai), but also many more exotic dishes.
This restaurant is truly a wold-​class level restaurant. We have eaten in similar places recently in London, Paris, etc. and this place is easily in the company of those cities’ best restaurants.
It is also worth pointing out that this restaurant has a separate section for the teppanyaki (), a style of Japanese cuisine that uses an iron griddle to cook the dishes in front of a group of people. Be sure to reserve ahead if this is the type of dining experience that you want. Otherwise, the regular dining room experience will not disappoint you!
