I am not a big fan of chocolate. But, it was definitely an enjoyable experience. Great view of the harbour and great afternoon tea service! Most items were delicious!

I’m not normally a High Tea kinda guy. But when I’m on the other side of the world visiting a former British colony, one should be open to such experiences! Add to that — it was a special Pierre Hermé themed High Tea, so who could possibly resist? Delicious! Our theme for the day was Passionfruit-infused everything. At first I worried this could be passionfruit overkill, but it wasn’t. Everything was balanced and in perfect harmony. Add to this, Café 103’s amazing views(floor-to-ceiling windows on the 103rd floor of the ICC building isn’t too shabby) makes it a special treat and redefines the«high» in High Tea. During my visit, Tosca(the Italian restaurant downstairs) had a soprano and tenor singing opera during brunch — which was an added bonus to our visit!

Great view of the«harbour» and great afternoon tea service! Definitely an enjoyable experience. Only a small selection of tea, but they do allow you to have hot chocolate or coffee instead of tea but no refills. Reasonably priced; for 5 people, we had 2 sets and an extra order of tea/coffee/chocolate, and it came out to be roughly $ 38USD/person. Also, this place allows you to pay in either Hong Kong dollars or your local currency(mine was US dollars) if you pay using a credit card.

Really come here to be well aloft the Victoria Harbor. Not expecting much from either the buffet or the service. Service is to par but the food is lacking some luster.

3.5 stars, rounded down as service was not very attentive and it was a bit pricey. Decent atmosphere, amazing views, good afternoon tea set, but you have to pay a premium for it. We came here to get a taste of their afternoon tea. I’ve heard mixed things but I really wanted to try for myself. It happened to be the first day they introduced a special tea set with citrus, so the mister and I shared one with some earl grey. The food came in a nice display, a big«shelf»(like a TV shelf) where all the pastries sit. There were a few savory sandwiches and puffs — my favourite of which is the foie gras macaron — and quite a few desserts. There are more sweets than savory things, which isn’t really my preference, but I’ll take it. Some of the desserts are *really* good, but some are quite meh. Overall, I think the location and the quietness more than made up for the price, but it is definitely not as tasty as some other high tea places I’ve been. Maybe we came in a little late(~4:30pm, when they stop their service at 5:30), but they did rush us a bit at the end, even when they weren’t that attentive in the beginning. I was expecting a little better at a place like this.

I had high tea with my friend who lives in Hong Kong on my last day there. We met up at Café 103 inside the Ritz Carlton in Kowloon. Each tea set came with smoked salmon in between squid ink bread, foie gras mousse with sweet bun, cucumber & cream cheese finger sandwich, mango mousse verrine, chocolate dried fruit bonbons, chocolate framboise tart, pistachio & caramel financier, chocolate mille-feuille, chocolate orange macaron, chocolate-filled cheesecake, and hot chocolate. Everything was good, but there was a slight overload on desserts over savory items. I would’ve preferred a good mix of both.

I went here for the dinner buffet last night. Overall, I would give them a 4.5 stars. If you’re looking for a selection galore, you’re probably going to be quite disappointed. Their selection of foods is actually quite limited. But, the small variety is compensated by better quality and more refined dishes. They definitely don’t skimp on the ingredients! Appetizers: You’ll find the usual assortment of cheeses, cured meats and veggies for your salad bar. Their sashimi is limited to only salmon, tuna, and small sweet shrimp. I’m not sure if it’s a seasonal thing, but they also had 3 or 4 different kinds of Thai salads(minced pork and glass noodle salad, beef salad, papaya salad). I found most of the Thai salads to be too sweet(I’m assuming they dialled down the flavours?). Seafood: I’m not a big seafood person, but they have lobster, King crab legs, spotted crab(called flower crab in Chinese), shrimp, mussels, and raw oysters. Main courses: For the main courses, they split it into Western and Chinese food. For the Western mains, they have a station for foie gras. It’s made to order. I didn’t try it(for personal reasons), so I can’t comment on the taste or quality. In addition, they also serve roast beef and lamb racks. Moving on to the Chinese dishes, they had beef cubes stir fried with X.O. sauce, chinese vegetables glazed with conpoy(dried scallops), and e-fu noodles stewed with crab. You’ll also find soup and small appetizers served at the end of the buffet table. For the soup, they had either lobster bisque or Chinese soup. You should definitely try their Chinese soup. It can possibly rival your mother’s homemade soup since they load up on good ingredients. They actually ladle the soup for you, and I was really surprised to see that 1⁄3 of my bowl was filled with dried scallops, bamboo pith, chicken, chinese mushrooms and the like. There was also a random placement of two appetizers(beef burger sliders and pan fried Thai fishcakes) beside the soup. In addition, the buffet also serves a special course that comes from the kitchen. It’s a cold dish consisting of two small Australian abalone with a soy-like reduction. It’s served in a cute little dim sum basket. It was a nice surprise, but the only bad thing about this was that the sauce was too salty. Dessert: I’m usually not the one for desserts, but seriously, their pastry team here are killing it! They have four different types of home made ice-cream(banana, lime sorbet, etc.), fresh fruits, macarons, and a great selection of cakes. The presentation of their cakes and desserts were beautiful. They didn’t spare any last details on it for sure. I personally loved their raspberry panna cotta with honey, lime and strawberry gelee(fruity and light), mango pudding with bird’s nest, green tea raspberry financier(with gold flakes topping this matcha goodness), and tropical fruit pare(spelling?). Service: 5 star service — they’re simply genuine and professional(they know what they’re doing). All in all, for the price you pay, you’re probably not going to be satisfied with their selection, but the high quality and attention to detail make up for it(for the most part, as some dishes were mediocre). Note: Free 3-hour valet parking(if you spend over a certain amount, otherwise $ 80 per hour)
