Appalling, the worst food I have eaten or rather tried to eat in HK Set menu dinner is not cheap in pricy Times Square for that we received tasteless slimy pork appetizer followed by ok cold dish & soup but then 2 really aweful mains course tasteless undercooked slimy shrimp dish & so called beef that was in edible, we refused the last course Our complaints were met with total indifference & a don’t care attitude

3.5 came during promotional tea time, but they were closing up and staff had trouble getting the orders right. steamed turnip cake was nice.

If you’re in the mood for Chinese while shopping atTimes Square, you’re spoilt for choice. Aptly called ‘Food Forum’, the 10th to 13th floors are all restaurants. To get there, you can take the lifts next to Lane Crawford all the way up, but where’s the fun in that? I prefer snaking up from the ground floor and taking the three large escalators up to the 9th floor, and then taking the smaller escalators from there. Heichinrou on the eleventh floor is one of my mother’s favorites — they have a good variety of dimsum and is decently priced for what it is. At around lunch times, you’ll almost definitely have to line up and get a number — I don’t think they take reservations. I like their shrimp dumplings and the shrimp rice rolls as the skin of the dumplings and the rice rolls are very well made, and the shrimp tastes really fresh too. The Chinese-style meatballs here are big and beefy, and are basically a meat lover’s delight. Heichinrou prides themselves on serving all-natural food that hasn’t been enhanced with MSG, which means that their food is much healthier than at other restaurants. It also means that their food is less salty but some may find that it is a little too much on the bland side if you are the kind of person who loves strong flavors. I have never been here for dinner so I’m not sure, but I have had a look at their dinner menu and it sounds pretty good. Like many Cantonese cuisines, their dimsum goes at a promotional price if you come during ‘tea time’ — 2:30 or 3pm if I’m not wrong, which is great news for those who enjoy a late lunch.
