A’s family have been members at KTC since moving to the area over a decade ago. Apparently a few minor details have changed, including renovations in the restaurants and courts, but the variety of facilities stay the same: a tennis court, table tennis room, gymnasium, snooker room, and even a bowling alley, are all options for members of the KTC. The gym facilities aren’t the greatest — there’s a limited number of machines and a few of them could use a bit of elbow grease, but for the less-than-enthusiastic gym gerbil, I don’t mind too much. It also doesn’t tend to get very crowded at night, so you can go at your own pace doing cardio and weights… unless, of course, you’re doing super sets — in which case, hustle hustle hustle! The snooker community in KTC is also quite active, with regular competitions/tournaments, and workshops inviting younger children to learn the rules of the game by older committee members, like A’s dad. It’s a lot of fun, and lockers are available to store your cue sticks at the club until your next game. For the less active club participants, there is a spacious, quiet library room for guests to enjoy one of the many collections of periodicals and newspapers available in both English and Chinese. There is also a café and Chinese restaurant on the first two floors. The café serves the best Thai noodle soup with an option of Thai sausage, at lunch. Definitely recommended.
