Close enough to the Paris originlal, though the steak frites are a set meal, with refills only for the fries. You can swim in that sauce all day though.

Reservation is not available, so better arrive early (for dinner, they serve from 6:30).
There is only one choice of main course: steak and refillable fries. $ 288 + 10% service.
They serve bread and lettuce salad. The bread and butter is average, nothing special to mention. The lettuce salad dressing is nice, should be a mixture of mustard, vinegar and olive oil.
The restaurant is famous for its steak sauce, which is not bad indeed: some herbs with salt and sour cream flavor. The sauce is more impressive than the meat itself, average quality for this price. Don’t expect too much.
The wine list isn’t long, got a few choices for red, white and champaign. We tried the house wine (ard. $ 460) recommended by the waitress. Medium body and fruity with raspberry nosing.
There are more than 10 different desserts and should be welcomed by sweet lovers.

I was extremely excited when I found out Le Relais was opening in Hong Kong a few months ago. I finally had the chance to try it last week. I’ve been to Le Relais de Venise in London about 5 years ago and I was quite impressed by the steak frites. The interior design and the ambience was just exactly like the one I went to in London… aww brings back such fond memories.
Same as the one in London, they don’t take reservations and the only way for you to try their steak frites is to… wait in line. I vaguely remember we waited for almost an hour in the cold London weather 5 years ago. This time in Hong Kong, the three of us only waited for 20 minutes (indoors). Soon after our last friend’s arrival, we got a table already. In fact, they almost let you in once the full party has arrived… which means most people waiting in line were still waiting for friends. 20-​minute wait is fair enough and I have no complaints!
For those who don’t know yet, Le Relais is a restaurant that only serves steak frites (steak and fries in French). This is the second restaurant in Hong Kong that’s doing this. I must say they do it better than the other restaurant in Soho. Basically when you sit down, the waitress immediately asks you how well would you like your steak to be done. Before the steak comes, you will be served with some bread and salad. For the steak, they serve it in two servings so that your meat will stay warm. They keep the second serving on a plate that’s warmed by a candle underneath. This is perhaps the only thing I dislike about it, the meat actually gets more done as it’s being heated. I’m a big fan of French mustard and their mustard is great with the steak. The special sauce is very buttery and it goes well with the meat and the fries. You can ask for extra sauce if necessary. Frites are unlimited. The waitresses will come by and ask if you want a refill. You’re supposed to eat the fries with the special sauce. Do not be an idiot and ask for ketchup because they will tell you they don’t have it.
The meal set of salad, steak and fries costs $ 288. If you still have room, be sure to try their desserts. They have a wide selection of 16 types of dessert. We tried the crème brûlée and the coffee liegeois. Both were very delicious.
Overall I quite like this place. I’ll surely be back again!

I was told this is the only Le Relais outside of Paris, so I thought it would be very good. However, everything is just so so, though the atmosphere is quite nice with classy european pub feel.
They have only 1 menu for all lunches and dinners, which is a salad, a steak + fries, dessert. Actually french fries are not from france. they shouldn’t serve here.
salad is a normal salad, nothing special.
steak — i heard the sauce is very special, but it’s not special to me at all. the steak is nothing special either. the waitress doesn’t even know which part of the cow is this steak.
the fries are worse than the fast food chain in US.
dessert is too sweet for me. Overall, I think it’s not up to standard.
wine is good.

Tried this newly opened restaurant last Sunday.
The steak is pretty done, more on their signature sauces rather than the beef itself.
Wide range of french dessert.
