Tiny shop but it got all you need. Wish I knew more about babies/kids. Once I bought a BOOK to a 6 months old newborn and expected him to be able to read. Gosh. Well at least he could read it some day later. A lot of people preferred to buy baby clothing, «Oh that’s so adorable.» «OMG that’s so cute.» Nope, from all the chats I had with new parents, they always had an abundant amount of clothing from friends and family, and the worst part was that all clothes would last no longer than 3 months. All become throwaway unless the parents plan to have another baby that picks up the second-hand clothes from its elder brother/sister. What did I do? I asked the expert aka the staff here. Obviously some of the educational«toy» is now suitable from«month 0+», meaning that it’s both safe and suitable from newborn to maybe when it’s 18 months old, or even further. If in doubt, always ask. Everything is priced quite reasonably, compared to the thousands of dollars parents throw into play group and all.

Little Whale is tucked under the escalator between Elgin Street and Caine Road. A small children’s shop that has stemmed from their online business, Little Whale caters for kids from 0 – 10 years old. They pack an awful lot in to a relatively small space — everything from lego sets to high chairs. Their preferred furniture brand is Norwegian company Stokke which is über stylish and modern. The staff are quick to help you find what you need which helpful as I found myself crashing into things whilst trying to navigate the narrow space. There are plenty of natural and Eco friendly products available including mosquito spray(that actually works!) Little Whale is great for a last minute birthday or baby shower gift but if you’re also the party planner, this is the place to get your balloons. They have a vast selection and will fill them with helium in store. Advance orders are preferred but when I ran in frantically seeking 20 balloons they could not have been more helpful — I was out of there in 15 minutes and that included me faffing around deciding on the perfect pink AND picking up a tonne of ‘Frozen’ memorabilia… which, might I add, it turns out is the key to any young girl’s heart.
