A five star train station, are you sure? This is probably what you are thinking and maybe I’m over playing it but it is definitely four at least and I don’t think my five stars are unreasonable.
Here is why —
— you can check your luggage in for the airport here. They have full on check in desks, it means if you want to go out in HK till a later flight baggage free you can and your suitcase is already on its way to your flight.
— it has a super efficient airport express train that leaves from it. Which is easy to find and gets you to the airport quickly and safely.
— it is below a shopping centre that is huge and has every shop and restaurant you can imagine.
— below it there is rows of restaurants. One in particular is so popular there is usually queues of people waiting to get in.
So yes for me this is one of the best train stations in the world. Full of facilities well organised and easy to get around.

Be still be beating heart, and lie flat my overly large humidified hair. This is the bestest train station in my world. The simplicity of this station and the excellent temperature control made me oh so happy.
So it’s a train station that has an AIRPORT CHECK IN COUNTER. Well 20 or so check in counters to be more precise. Yes you did read correctly. Here you can monitor your flight status, check in to most airlines and drop off you bag than continue to shop around the IFC Mall all before hopping on an express and direct train to the international airport.
If your flight requires an airport check in the lovely information board will let you know. Allowing you ample time to make it into the airport via the superbly comfortable, clean and quiet train.
There’s a luggage check in around the corner past Starbucks. Follow the over head signs. It’s reasonably priced and the staff are really helpful.

Airport express with check-in and baggage when it’s two and a half hours before your flight? Easy, job done. The train ticket machines to the airport to customer service, fast no wait check in at 6AM, greatest luxury ever. The Hong Kong station is located at IFC mall so all the food and shopping at your finger tips too.
