This is part of the Pure group and the bar /restaurant is on top of the gym and the shop. The servers were really good and attentive. The food, however, was disappointing. They messed up my egg Benedict and took forever to get to us. Perhaps restaurant is not their strong point.

I love the atmosphere at Red Bar. It’s a big open area that is accessible by the public. You can also bring your own drinks and just hang out. I’ve never actually eaten there so I can’t say anything about their food. I know they do seasonal things like offering turkey around Thanksgiving time though. The view is amazing! You’ll get a really good view of the ICC and it plays the music that goes along with the ICC light show. Overall, Red Bar is a really chill place with a view and perfect for just hanging out with your friends.

Good day drinking spot. Nothing beats a pitch of Pimms. Nice views. Only tried bar snacks. Sucker for their messy chicken wings with blue cheese dip. Hits the spot. Used to go here when I was younger for New Years. Would always be live.

Enjoying a great view is somehow so much fun when you have a drink in hand. If you’re standing there just admiring the vista, then you’ll probably have your mouth open, a moronic expression on your face, and an overriding desire to take lots of bad and very clichéd photos. On the other hand, stand there clutching a drink as you stare into the distance and you’re a poet considering the next stanza; a philosopher grappling with the concept of reality; or a great painter toying with perspective. Or merely a tipsy woman who can’t remember where she lives. Siting on top of the IFC mall, Red has fantastic views looking out over the harbour. After a couple of drinks you’ll almost start to imagine you’re staying at the Four Seasons next door or you’re at a party in the house of someone who owns a very large roof terrace and, er, lots of shops underneath. Yet despite occupying sizeable square footage, Red still manages to make you feel as though you’ve stumbled into somewhere a little secret. OK, so you have to get up and go order your drink at the bar — and if it rains you’re screwed — but there are never too many people around and there’s plenty of seating available. Take the high tables and stools if you’re here with a group of friends and some oversized sofas if you want to stretch out in the dark and attempt to rummage inconspicuously with the one you love. It can all get a little corporate in the afternoon when many of the tables get commandeered by the booted and suited as they discuss spread sheets, sales figures and the relative size of their man-bags. But they soon fade away as night falls. Then it’s time for cocktails, which are well made and competitively priced. More commendably, happy hour appears to last longer that the 60minutes suggested by its name. So go on… take a sip(and puff that cigar). Now admire the view.

There are many great restaurants and many fun bars in Hong Kong, but to find both in one venue is not so easy. I’ve been going to Red Bar and Restaurant for more than a couple years. The first time I went I actually don’t remember — it was new years, I was young, and there were more then a few shots of Chivas being passed around come midnight. We won’t talk about that. Every visit after I made it an aim, a mission if you will, to remember. On a sunny, clear afternoon sitting above the rest of central, under the towering IFC building life isn’t so bad, I thought one day. It’s an easy feeling to feel especially with a plate of calamari and a bottle of wine on the table in front of me. In fact, life is good. That’s the sensation I get when I’m at the terrace outside of Red Bar. The occasional breeze, a view across the harbor and the overall feel of being in one of Hong Kong’s busiest areas but at the same time away from it sets it apart. There are times, namely during the summer, when sitting outside is uncomfortable due to the humidity but fear not for the option to sit indoors is always on the table. Dear Air Con, thank you. During the evening my friends and I use the Red Bar as a starting point before the real adventures begin. Because the terrace area is public property we’re able to bring in some 711 drinks, but no matter how hard I try I can never rustle up a Cuba Libre as well as the bar staff do. The mood is relaxed and the music loungy, and doesn’t necessarily need to be the start of a crazy night. Red Bar is also a great date option, I feel like it’s one of those places were one feels one is in a bar yet still able to hear one’s date without having to scream WHAT?! in each other’s ear. The indoor area is classy enough to impress that special some one while the outdoor lounge chairs are a perfect way to get close and intimate. Just not too intimate, there are people around, come on!
