This little place has high quality sashimi. We tried some of the rolls, as well as uni, mackerel pike and jack mackerel. For mackerel pike, I’ve tried it often grilled, but it’s the first time I’m having it raw. Now autumn is the season for it, as its original name, autumn knife, suggests. The jack mackerel has a much milder taste, but I prefer the bold and slightly oily taste of mackerel pike, and both are beautiful presented to the table. We also tried sea eel, anago, though I much prefer the more succulent unagi. They also have puffer fish jerky, for those who want to try it without buying a life insurance first. We end the meal with some eel fried rice. This place also has a yakitori menu, though I find them just so-so. The beef tongue was a bit chewy. This place only carry one beer, Orion from Okinawa, but I’d recommend trying the sake instead. They have a very good selection, including Dassai 23, which is very smooth and delicious, and which I heard from another source that Obama loves with his sushi and orders it by cases.
