Came here for lunch last month the day after Christmas. Excellent hand made fresh fish ball noodles with little or no msg added. It is an old style street shop with small tables so lines can be long during lunch hours. Price is amazingly cheap and portions are large. A must try for anyone in the area.

Easy local comfort food in a bowl! Let me start off with their broth — it’s amazing! It’s not overly salty, nor does it feel like it’s loaded with MSG. It’s authentic, rich, and milky, while remaining light at the same time(if that even makes sense?). Although they specialize in fish soup rice noodles, I really think their rice in fish soup is even better! I usually order their minced pork, winter melon and mushroom with rice in soup. What makes this dish outstanding is the preserved vegetables(冬菜) they put in the dish. There’s only a small amount of the preserved vegetables(冬菜) in the soup, but it’s powerful taste gives the soup so much more depth(although I have been twice, and the 冬菜 taste was muted the second time I went, so the taste isn’t always consistent). Note: The entire menu is in Chinese, and they also close really early(at 8:00 pm). Completely random observation, but unless you’re a middle aged male patron, service is pretty much lacking and you might also get some attitude from the two middle-aged ladies working there, haha!
