So I met up with some friends in Altrincham. It’s a semi regular night that we do a few times a year. Instead of our usual Blue Dog, Unicorn and Costelloes combo we had a bit of a change. After starting at the Unicorn, we then went to and stayed in Embrace. It’s a really nice place. We were a group of about 15 and there was plenty of space for us. I would have thought somewhere like this that is close ish to Goose Green and the tram stop would have been busier. As it was World Gin Day I, of course, got in the spirit and was on Hendricks and tonic. It is reasonably priced — two cost about £9. After a little while, one of the group went to the loo upstairs and noticed there was upstairs seating. So we all moved to upstairs as we could spread out more. Me being The Queen of Sheba, I decided to laze across the sofa. Ironic that the person in the group with the shortest legs had the most space. But there was a lot of space. I also saw a sign for a roof terrace but I didn’t check it out. The staff were really friendly and one of the barmen even let me sniff the Hendricks bottle. They were also ok with me having my feet up on the sofa. Overall a really good place with a good soundtrack/atmosphere and I recommend it when out in Altrincham. Also I reckon the upstairs bit could hold 30 – 50 people for a function, if anyone is looking for that in Alti.
