Frankie and Bennys

For some bizarre reason I end up here yet again 2 years after my last visit to Basingstoke and yet again I wonder why I came in the door? service was slow although the restaurant was empty and only had about 3 occupied tables. I had to go looking for a waitress to have our order taken.
One of our group ordered fish and chips and it looked like the fish had died in vain because it was so hard and dry it could not be eaten. but of course he didn’t complain as he decided to honour the British stiff upper lip! I wouldn’t have been so shy but maybe us Irish complain more readily if something is simply not good? And it was not good.
The staff seemed not too interested and considering that the retail centre actually had an aquazone pool, a bowling arena, a cinema and a museum it should have been heaving.
