Eat here quite regularly, it’s one of my locals. In all the years coming here I’ve never been disappointed! Has seriously one of the best frys goin! The staff in the floor are brilliant, always smiling and always ask the chef to accommodate my fussiness when I’m in lol! If you’ve never been… go!

We all have a place which we are comfortable eating in. A little place where we order a certain dish and we know exactly what taste to expect. TK One is my place for this bit of comfort. It serves it’s menu to a variety of clientele but on weekday mornings you can expect to see it full of mummies trying to recoup from the harsh pace of the school run. The atmosphere will be full of gossip and judgemental sentiments. On weekend mornings you can expect the restaurant to act as a haven for all those brave souls who faced the plight of tripping the light fandango the night before. Expect pale faces and sunken eyes a plenty. Lunches and dinner are a mixed affair and although I have had a few here, it’s hard to be so stereotypical of these times. As you may have guessed, this venue is more a breakfast setting for me. They offer a lovely fry and great stack of pancakes should make it well worth stopping in for anyone. Price wise they are not that bad, you should expect for 2 people to have an ample brekkie for less than £15. All of the servers are bright and cheery, which is obviously another reason why they get so much returning custom. It’s certainly a big reason why I’ll continue to visit, well that and also to find out the latest bizz from all the girls ;)

TK1 is a nice local eatery that seems to have been around forever. I remember taking first serious interest in TK1 when I was around 16 or 17, around the age when I and other guys my age began taking girls out for meals as part of a date rather than limiting ourselves to the cinema, park, or ice skating. TK1 has always had a decent enough reputation and the fact that it has been around for as long as it has proves that it is popular with the locals. The last time I ate here was a couple of months ago with my girlfriend and we were both very happy with our meals. I went for the ‘bird and beef’ for my main course which was a well cooked fillet of beef accompanied with a chicken breast and I have to say I really enjoyed it. Everything was cooked well and the generous portions of vegetables as a side made sure that I got a good wholesome filling meal. With a good sized menu and reasonable prices TK1 will always do well, particularly at the weekends. I would recommend going during the week when it’s not so busy when you can also avail of their midweek specials at great prices!

This is a pretty popular local eatery, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It’s another of those traditional style places, and has those regal looking wooden chairs with the high backs. I’ve never been terribly impressed with it though. I ate in it a few times, and they’ve a decent menu covering the usual sorts of things — sandwiches, baked potatoes, chicken dishes, lasagne, roast dinners, etc. It’s seems to be another of those«depends who’s working» sort of places. I had a chicken dinner in it one time, with mashed potatoes, vegetables, gravy, and all the trimmings for around £8, and it was a really good Sunday dinner. However, on another occasion I had the lamb, which was so unbelievably tough that I bent the fork when trying to cut it! They do a good«clean» fry as well(see Biddy Duffy’s review), but the thing with this place is that you always seem to be waiting forever. It’s not unusual to wait a half an hour for your food in here, which is quite a wait. There’s a sign that mentions something about fresh food taking longer to prepare but, unless you’re out the back saying your last goodbyes to the pig, there’s no reason for something as simple as a fry taking half an hour — nor are any of their dishes special enough to justify that sort of wait. Waiting staff are friendly and polite though.

Grilled salmon is served with mashed potatoes. I was drinking a couple of pots of tea. My friends were happy with the portions. The fried cod is good. This was a recommendation by the cab driver.
