This place has character in the bucket-​loads — people aren’t shy about their Irish pride and heritage here and they certainly know how to enjoy themselves.
It’s a loud, lively and boisterous atmosphere, with raucous laughter and conversation erupting and escalating every other minute. My friend is a coach of a local Gaelic football team so he uses Casey Joe’s as a spot to celebrate or drown their sorrows after a match — but the one things that’s guaranteed is that whenever there are drinks flowing it’s going to be enjoyed regardless of what preceded it.
Being one large room, it’s not the kind of pub to go to if you want to have a quiet pint on a Friday, so it’s not a pub for the faint-​hearted. It’s for those who take life by the scruff of the neck, drink a lot and live boldly.
With some drink, sport, food, a killer atmosphere and Irish pride, you have yourself a fine pub.

Casey Joe’s is the kind of place which sums up the spirit of Irish Birmingham. The emphasis in this establishment is on atmosphere and ensuring that all that set foot through the door are given the warmest of Birmingham Irish welcomes. It is a regular meeting spot for Gaelic football teams and as such throughout the Gaelic season you can expect to find it as part of their live sport schedule. So other than booze, atmosphere and live sport the other ingredient which makes up a good drinking hole is undoubtedly quality pub grub. With a curry and a pint priced at just three pounds ninety nine Casey Joe’s certainly ticks that box. In short, you would have to look hard to discover something not to like about Casey Joe’s particularly if you are a fan of Irish culture. It’s not too hard on the wallet and the atmosphere is sensational, there are very few reasons not to pay this place a visit.
