Visited the boot last weekend, been before and had been disappointed but decided to give it another go. Yet again was dissatisfied which was a shame after hearing good things from a friend. We had rustic bread and olives to start must say the olives were amazing and the garlic butter on a good note. Although the bread was as if it had been out all day! Main course had chicken with chips garlic sauce which was put straight on top of the chips was very over powering to say the least. The chicken was dry even smoothing it in my Garvey couldn’t revive it. My partner had pork belly which he said was really nice cooked well, they forgot the scallops and when they did come out was undercooked. The place its self is really cosy and warm feeling to it. Set in a really nice place which a nice garden in the summer. There Was good points in the meal just not enough to make me want to revisit for a 3rd time to be Disappointed again.

When you’re practically in the middle of nowhere you don’t necessarily expect to come across a restaurant that easily competes with 5 star restaurants around the world. But that’s exactly what The Boot Inn does. With an unassuming pub exterior, you would assume the inside would resemble a classic rustic old school pub, but what greets you a classy restaurant. We arrived early and the restaurant filled up quickly around us, but despite all the tables being full, the service was excellent. The waitress dealt with my food allergies(gluten, dairy and onion free) with ease, we were regularly checked on to make sure everything was okay, and the food came out in good time. All the food is locally sourced, the meat and eggs are all free range, the game is local, the fish is caught fresh each day from a boat, the beef is aged to perfection, organic wines and cask ales… what more could you want?! The menu is vast and has plenty of options. All mains come with pan cooked potatoes… They actually come to the table with the pan of potatoes and pile as many you want onto your plate … With a number of huge potato lovers at the table that was pretty much the ultimate. Now the food itself. … wow, delicious! I had the chicken breast with rosemary and lemon. It was perfectly tender and full of flavour. The masaai sauce and the buffalo mozzarella complimented the dish perfectly. The sea bass was also ordered and it was very tasty, it had a crispy skin and the samphire, bernaise sauce and capers were the perfect compliment to this delicious dish. We also had an order of pork belly which was delicious and was complimented nicely by chilli calamari, bok choy and relish. The last member of our party had the lamb rump and he absolutely devoured it. We also ordered a side of sweet potato fries with aioli and honey roast carrots were both very good. Dessert met the same standards with an excellent bannoffee sundae, yummy panacotta and an insanely good baileys cheesecake with rich chocolate sauce and walnuts which added a nice crunchy texture and topped with ice cream! Overall we were very impressed with all aspects of this restaurant and it truly is better than many high quality restaurants I’ve eaten at in NYC, London, Los Angeles, Paris, Greece, Amsterdam, Italy, Australia and New Zealand to name a few. I’d love to come back on a sunny day to make use of the beautiful outdoor area. Highly recommended!

A lovely pub and restaurant set in the beautiful countryside of Lapworth. This place has a real homely feel to it, and there is ample seating outside with an array of tables, chairs, umbrellas and outdoor heaters. I didn’t see much of the inside as I made a beeline straight for the beer garden, but from what I did see the décor provided a cosy and inviting atmosphere. The service is great and drinks were bought to our table outside, as we had a tab. A real gem of a pub that I shall look forward to returning to.

The food we had was very disappointing. My wife had a ‘fancied’ bubble and squeak that came with a hollindaise sauce. The source was a poor attempt and was verging on split. I had the filet steak special with a peppercorn sauce. This time the sauce was split… I’m talking a visible thickness of fat floating on the top of the ramekin split. I sent this back immediately and they brought an improved attempt. Although, I should point out that the steak was cooked as requested. Service was also dreadfully slow. We will not be returning to The Boot!

used to visit the place all the time a few years ago. nice and pleasant surroundings. the food is a little bit different to normal pub fayre. sadly today’s was mostly cold and was set back 3 times, though they did take the items off the bill. seems the place is so popular now the kitchen cant cope.

Great in the summer for sitting outside, but also really cosy in the wnter, Great food, little more expensive than your normal pub grub, but a lot nicer too. Definately worth a visit once in a while.

We visited here in Summer on a nice day and were able to sit outside in the gardens which was pleasant. The food however took a while to arrive but the selection of beer was good. It was also in a very pleasant area.
