We decided to try Chi Bar as it’s quite local to us, they always seem to have reasonably priced deals on, and it is a member of Taste Card offers. Whatever happened, it would be a good priced meal! I had the Lamb Korma, and my girlfriend had the Keema Matar, both with onion and garlic rice with a naan. I have to say that it was delicious! Not sure if I’d have been as happy at full price as the portion sizes were just enough, but for 50% off it was a great deal. The waitress got the order wrong and brought a plain rice instead of a naan, but that was quickly rectified and she apologised. The restaurant is quite modern, and also very clean and spacious. I’d say that it’s one of the better Indian restaurants in the area, but we’ve only been to 3 in the Jewellery Quarter so far.

I went for quick meal here after attending a party at Trove, which is slightly further down Newhall Street. They had two waitresses standing outside offering free samples of chicken tikka. It felt a bit weird, but they promised us some decent offers on food and drink, so we went in. It was pretty nice inside but incredibly quiet. The interior was very modern and luxurious, with lots of brown leather and a swanky lit-up marble bar. My guess is that they have just relaunched the place — hence the offers and quietness. I was with two good friends and we took a seat in the bar area. The bar menu was decent — with a selection of «light bite» Indian dishes and wraps. They gave us our drinks for free when we ordered our food at the bar. I expected this to mean a glass of crappy wine, but the wine I got was really crisp and tasty, one of my friends got a good pint of Peroni with his meal too. The waitress recommended that we order several dishes as they were quite small. We expected dainty tapas-style portions, but they actually turned out to be quite generous and we struggled to finish everything. The food was good value and whilst it wasn’t exactly haute cuisine it was tasty and quick. The place could have done with a bit more buzz and atmosphere but that will hopefully come with time.

Slightly ostentatious and tacky — the sort of place that wouldn’t look out of place on the Soho Road. Not great.

Went here yesterday for one of its many themed nights, and it was brilliant! Only a fiver to get in before 11 and on certain days ladies can get in free! The bar has two room with ample dancing space and lovely bars which are well stocked with a variety of drinks at reasonable prices. The music varies from R ‘n’ B to Dance and Bhangra, something for everyone. Security here is also very good, so there is no reason not to go down!
