DFC Chicken

To kickstart this review, I feel it necessary to point out that I have no idea what ‘DFC’ stands for, nor does their menu or signage present any enlightening facts. My best guess it that it’s Dixy Fried Chicken, which seems to be a popular name for similar establishments, although I’m not entirely sure; for all I know, it could be Digbeth Fried Chicken (mmm, doesn’t that sound appetising?). DFC functions as both a standard takeaway and, thanks to the ample seating inside, a sit in restaurant. I’ve tried out plenty of takeaways in Birmingham, but I’ve seen few shops as cheap as DFC, which has an extensive £1 menu, serving nuggets, donner burgers, chicken wings, and a number of other takeaway favourites, with chips, for just one quid. As you may very well expect, the food isn’t exactly haute cuisine, but at that price, it’s great value for money.
