How has no one reviewed Jam Jar lights before? This trendy concept store has made a massive splash in such a relatively short amount of time, I am genuinely surprised! Due to this fact, I decided to pop down and explore the new and interesting line up of shops on Bristol Street which have opened up recently. Although I only had a few minutes to spare, I figured it was worth getting a quick poke around and peek at the layout and wares. Even if you haven’t been to Jam Jar yet, you will have come across their wares. These guys unique style of light fitting has popped up in trendy bars and coffee houses all around the City this year. Have you seen a funky brass fitting with a bulb enclosed in a Kilner jar? Yep. That’s Jam Jar. The shop has more than just jars. With fantastic lamps, fittings and all manner of interesting ways to brighten up the darkest corner of your home, you’ll be amused and surprised as to what these guys can do with some metal, bulbs and electricity. Now, originality doesn’t come cheap. Standalone lamps start at £50(with wall fittings coming in at £45+), these fittings are high design and would look great in a modern(or vintage) style room. It’s of note that Jam Jar are now on the IB card and you can score 10% off if you flash your card(considering some of the hanging lamps are priced around £150, you can be quids in). As well as fittings, you can also find bulbs, cables and all the accessories you would need to fit your light at home. Now, a lighting shop may not sound like the most exciting thing in the world but a trip to Jam Jar is well worth the short walk out of town. The little collection of businesses that have popped up here seem to be growing all the time, so I’ll definitely be back(especially when I finally own my own home).
