After walking around mosely for something to eat without a reservation we just passed by here by accident. The place is great! We had to wait 10 minutes which was ideal to have a first drink at the bar. This place is buzzing and comfortable. The waiters and waitresses were very friendly and authentic and just down to earth polite. I spotted many groups, like days and friend’s nights out and thought this would be a good restaurant to celebrate something. The food was delicious too and really affordable as well. Loved the paneer shashlik and the okra curry. If you’re after good food, replaxed but fun atmosphere and friendly people — this place is for you! :)

Been eating at Kababish for over 20 years now, might be a little more expensive than the usual curry houses but definitely worth it. Kababish kebab starter is to die for.

There’s a reason why this place is my family’s go to for birthday meals and just generally going out for a curry, because it’s so good. There’s a wide variety on the menu, catering for all spice levels, that you really are spoilt for choice. I had an old favourite, the Murghi Cholley Saagwalla, where the combination of chicken, spinach and chick peas isn’t the hottest of curries but is jam packed full of flavour. The service is excellent, the food is great and it’s definitely good value for money, what more could you want?

After agonising over where we would go for a curry during our brief trip to Birmingham, we eventually decided on this spot given our location and the recommendation of a friend. Thanks to all the Unilocalers who provided recommendations! The location is good, although I reckon there is a fortune to be made selling car parks in the area — seriously they are rare as rockinghorse droppings. Ambience was nice and the staff very accommodating — we were first sat next to a large very noisy group that made it tough for us as two of three at the table were hard of hearing, however the staff were very happy to shift us and we sat in a nice quiet corner. Wednesday night and they were pretty busy, so suggest booking for weekends. Cobra on tap, good wine list from around the world, and passable cocktails. :-D Poppadums and dips to start while we went through the enormous menu! Chefs Sizzler starter is great — bit of all the Tandoori meats, and we followed with Balti Chicken(of course) and two other curries which I could not name — a lamb and a prawn. All in all the meal was excellent, the naan bread possibly the best I have eaten, the roti thin and crispy, and all the curries well flavoured and spiced. Wish we were in town longer so we could do more of the menu! Recommended.

I was not that impressed by Kababish. We were a large group and service was painfully slow: first we had a long wait for our order to be taken then over an hour before food was served … So over 90 minutes after arrival before main course reached the table. Restaurant very warm Food was good but not great. Overall, can’t really recommend.

With ‘The Bish’ as my friends and I affectionally refer to it, you simply cannot go wrong. Every meal I have enjoyed here has been wonderful and it is a firm favourite for birthdays and special occasions. The food is a little bit more expensive than a standard curry house(around £8−10 for a main) but it is worth the extra money for the wonderful setting, great staff and excellent food. We’ve sampled a lot of the menu over the years and highly recommend the paneer shashlik to start and either murgi cholley saagwalla or karrara gosht for main. They also serve a chicken tikka salaadh which is a real winner with a couple of my mates. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. The bar is fully stocked so having wine or a g&t with your meal is no problem. Parking can be a little bit of a problem especially on weekends so plan to leave the car at home or a couple of streets away.

It’s hard to decide between the many amazing Indian restaurants on the Balti Triangle, but Kababish in Moseley, is a good option for anyone passing by. The décor is clean and modern, the service is really helpful and, most important, the food is delicious! I had the Mushroom Saag Balti and it was one of the best I’ve ever tasted. Prices for the mains are on average about £8, while it’s not the cheapest it is certainly one of the best. They make a mean cocktail too!

Sutton Coldfield: 266 Jockey Road, Boldmere, Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands B735XP 01213555062 Moseley: 29 Woodbridge Road, Moseley, Birmingham B138EH 01214495556 Kababish, based only in Moseley and Sutton Coldfield, is run by the Sidiq family. From the moment you step through the door, you are instantly made feel at home with handshakes and warm before being escorted to your table. Two brothers manage each of the restaurants and you are likely to be served by their sons, nephews and friends of their family. With each return, your face and name is remembered, as well as topics of conversation you have had with them on previous occasions and whoever is serving you will show an interest in your recent ventures. It is the staff’s care and attention which has made this restaurant a regular place of attendance. When it comes to judging a venue, particularly a restaurant, the people who eat there are a huge indication of the quality of both the venue itself and the food. Kababish attracts patrons of all types and ages; from rugby teams to professors, romantic couples, birthday parties for both the old and the young and a proud picture of the proprietor with Robbie Williams is hung in a prominent place in the restaurant. The website also informs its reader that Geri Halliwell and Muhammed Ali have also eaten there and whenever the Pakistani cricket team visits Birmingham, it is the venue of their choice. At the table next to you, you are likely to hear a variety of languages from English to Punjabi, a sign that the food is approved of by both those whose culture it is to eat eastern food, and from those for whom it is an unusual culinary treat. Kababish prides itself on serving you home cooked Indian, Pakistani and Punjabi food prepared the same day from the freshest of ingredients. And it shows. The majority of dishes are served with fresh side salads, there is not a layer of oil or ghee across the balti dishes and the quality of the food is consistent with every visit. Most importantly, there is something for every palate and your needs are always accommodated so you can request a dish to be made to your particular taste. As for the décor, east meets the west with both modern and traditional styles, making Kababish a funky place to visit. From the food and the décor, to the care and warmth of this venue, Kababish is one of the top Birmingham restaurants. But it is more than the excellent service and food that makes every visit so special. Kababish is a Birmingham restaurant run by people who have lived in Birmingham, grown up in Birmingham and are now rearing their children in Birmingham. The Birmingham based tandoori and balti restaurant is one of kind, ensuring you will not have an experience like Kababish in any other city or restaurant.

Done up to closer resemble a trendy bar than an Indian restaurant, the Kababish comes across as wanting to stand out and offer a unique dining experience. The menu is a mixture of balti and tandoori options, and although the set balti options for vegetarians are sorely lacking, you do have the option of essentially building your own by picking out which ingredients you want. Tandoori options are traditionally far more favourable for us non meat-eaters, and you do end up being rather spoiled for choice in that regard. The service is very friendly at Kababish, and while the food is very tasty, I was left a little disappointed with the size of the portions. I don’t know whether this is an intentional ploy on the part of the management to appear all«nouvelle cuisine», but I personally wouldn’t have minded paying a little more and having a more substantial portion. Not a bad experience by any means, but the experience would have been better if we’d known beforehand that our main meals were going to be quite dinky. We might have ordered more starters if that had been the case!

Went here for the first time on saturday night, was very impressed. The service was good with attentive and friendly staff. was even a some friendly banter between the Birmingham City supporting staff and my Aston Villa supporting friend. The chicken balti makhani that i had was excellent, and the other 4 people i was with also thought their food was very good. Will definitely visit again.

Fantastic food, very helpful staff and lovely décor. Most importantly the food tastes fresh and they select only the best cuts of meat for their curries — you can really taste the difference when eating there. It gets very busy and often they take bookings until 10:30 pm! So booking is advisable, but even if they’re full, you can still order a take away. Top rated food and service.

Food excellent, nice décor and lighting, but service appalling. We waited over an hour for our starter which came while the next table(who arrived after us) paid their bill. The food though was excellent and made up somewhat for the terrible service.

Really nicely redecorated and the food was brilliant — perfect portion sizes and good value for money for the high quality. Attentive but not over intrusive staff and a decent wine list make this my favourite birmingham restaurant

Quite a new addition to Moseley only a year or so old Kababish is a real class act when it comes to Indian food. The restaurant is very well decorated and the staff are fantastic. I’ve eaten here a few times and I can’t say I’ve had many better curries in Birmingham. It does get busy on weekends but that’s due to its popularity and if Indian food is what you’re after PLEASEPLEASE try this restaurant. Big thumbs up, chicken Jalfrezi hot hot hot.
