If a business is doing well then it doesn’t need to specialise in anything else than what it is. A good example of this notion is a computer retailer I walked past the other day. I noticed in the window that they were also selling cuddly toys and I thought, why?
This business is another example of why a business should stick to what it is supposed to be. Ripe n Ready sells potting plants, soil, large plants, sweets and other miscellaneous items. The outside looks like a florist, whilst the inside of the grocers is cramped and claustrophobic.
I like this Grocers, I think they have a good supply of stock in terms of fruit and vegetables. I just think that they should cut back on being a florist and dedicate more room and time to doing what they are good at doing, and that is being a green grocer.

A reliable, jack of all trades greengrocers. I was sent on an errand to get some plants for the local community centre I was working at, fortunately Ripe ‘N’ Ready had everything that I needed in stock to supply some greenery for the ‘plants and wildlife’ theme that was shaping the days events at the centre.
I left with an array of potted plants and some vegetables plants too much which I admit when I arrived back weren’t invoking a great deal of excitement in those attending the centre that day. O well, they eventually took an interest and planted some tomatoes, squash, sunflowers and courgettes.
A reliable greengrocers for your ordinary gardening pursuits.

This place deals in everything green. There’s a greengrocer selling all that you’d expect. A jungle of walkways at head height out the front displays house plants, bedding plants, vegetable plants and more exotic stuff too. A florist caters for weddings and funerals and runs a delivery service too. Is there anything that these guys don’t do?
No, it seems. There’s more in the shape of a garden centre with a humungous range of tasteful, (and less so), water features, statues and furniture.
Although I rarely venture this far east in Birmingham, Ripe ‘N Ready is a one-​stop shop that’s worth making a trip to Yardley for.
