S R Checketts

In this day and age, it’s getting increasingly rare to see many of the traditional fixtures of the Great British high street. You almost never see a dedicated greengrocers any more, and local butchers are rapidly heading the same way, replaced by soulless counters in soulless multinational supermarkets. That’s the reason I was drawn in when I saw S R Checketts, and old fashioned, local, independents butchers. Even with the Sainsburys across the road, S R Checketts is always busy, which is a testament to the quality of their meat and of their more than competitive prices. Their meat is always delivered fresh in the morning, as all quality butchers should have it, and even for a student such as myself, their prices are extremely affordable, with four minted lamb burgers (my personal favourite of their varied, exciting product range) setting you back a measly £1.99. A great choice for all your meat needs.
