I had a meal here recently and was wonderfully surprised. From the outside the restauarnt looks quite minimalistic, but inside it’s warm and friendly. Plenty of wood and other natural furnishings. The food was simple, but so well-​cooked and tasty. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful and the whole eating experience was great. Good value too and I would definitely return.

You have to love a place that serves good coffee and tea made with leaves — remember them! Plus rather splendid cakes. The dinners and lunches are exceptional — a lot of local fish — but the chef nearly always has something exciting for meat etc too. I’ve had some superlative veggie meals there. Style I guess is mediterraneanish maybe but fusion definitely.
It’s open all day but not Sundays which is a bind. Try not to go downstairs for your meal though. They’ve tried their best but it is a bit dark.
