This is a 1.5 star, but I rounded up. The service was abysmal. But the food was worse. The Greek salad was dry, small and reminiscent of Wendy’s. The beef souvlaki was criminally bad. We would have brought it home for my friend’s dog, but she is picky. So we suffered through it. Don’t order the beef stew either. Or the Nemea red wine — it will strip the enamel from your teeth. My friend was telling me that Britain now has some of the world’s best restaurants. That may be, but there are plenty of places like this one left in the mix. Be advised.

The starters were really good quality, taramasalata was fairly salty tho. The wines are not the best but drinkable. Mains were a moussaka and spanokopita which were delicious and fairly quick(although the restaurant was pretty empty)

We had a lovely meal here out first afternoon in Bournemouth and it was well worth the visit. Excellent vegetarian options, and big portions. The meze starter was fantastic and enough to be a full meal. They do a full meze(vegetarian options too!) for the very hungry that looked fantastic. Food was delicious and full of flavour. The service was attentive and helpful without being overbearing. This appears to be a family run place and you can see the amount of care and love they put into it.

Went on the recommendation of a Unilocal review and were surprised that Zorba’s was quiet at 7.30pm on Tuesday. Ordered for two from the very traditional menu; taramasalata, tzatziki, calamari and bread and olives for starters. WOW! Really big servings, in fact enough for the whole evening, but having lived in Greece for a year I really wanted a treat to remember. A bit disappointed when our mixed souvlaki turned up… Very dry. I can only guess that the chef got bored and started to grill them too early. Such a shame. I’d definitely go back and try them again. Don’t be put off, I’m sure it was just a timing error. Great starters, lovely wine, shame about the main.

Lovely place and the food is great! We had the meze which was £20 each for £20 dishes. It was fantastic. Left the place completely stuffed! Highly recommend this place!

Can’t say any more than superb freshly cooked food in a great atmosphere. Food takes a while but that is because it is cooked fresh to order. Very reasonable. 5 people 3 courses bottle of wine and other soft drinks. £25 a head.

I visited this restaurant with by boyfriend and another couple on Thursday night and I was very pleasently surprised! The road it is on does not lead you to believe that it will be a particularly classy place, but once you are inside you could be anywhere. We ordered the Meze and were served with masses of delicious food. I ate so much I was actually in need of a lie down! It is a little pricey at £20 a head(no drinks) but it is well worth it and on a Wednesday they do an offer where you get a bottle of wine inc in the meal price. Oh and desert is included(not that I could fit it in). The food was a really good quality and the atmosphere is lovely.
