Fantastic food, ambiance, and friendly staff. Recommend to anyone in Brighton! The scallops and pork shoulder were my favorite. Open kitchen and friendly chefs so definitely recommend sitting at the bar area

This is by far the best dining experience I have had in Brighton. I went with 3 friends and we ordered all 18 dishes they had to offer! The beef gaspacho was the cream of the crop in terms of meat, the miso cabbage blew my mind and the scallops were cooked to perfection. I loved the fact that I was sat at the pass and could see the chefs at work, the kitchen is really cleverly laid out and I enjoyed the fact the chefs introduced some of the dishes to us. All of the staff were lovely and attentive, great décor, great music and atmosphere — could not recommend it more!

I love it here, my wife doesn’t, which is frustrating as I love to try lots of different things in small sizes in a restaurant. Cool little place, with a nice vibe, love the open kitchen and the fact the guys will answer any questions and are happy to just have a chat. One thing I really like is that they make the vegetables really tasty, to the point to where they are one of the highlights. I was trying things I’d never eaten before and I’ve never been massively into my veg but I was here!!! Another big fave was the gummy bear dessert. So refreshing and more-ish. Really keen to check out their London offering! A must try for Brighton(or visiting) foodies!

Great restaurant nestled in the lanes! So quaint with barely enough room to seat 20 but that adds to the vibe. Great food, and the staff were incredibly helpful. Really cool to see the chefs at work! Book in advance as limited space.

As there were four of us, we were recommended to order ALL the dishes off the menu(one of each) which we duly did. Though some of the dishes were truly exceptional, the one person who didn’t truly enjoy herself was the birthday girl. Turns out she didn’t like not having ordered dishes of her own(not that she truly minds sharing but with four!) and I get that so When I do go again I would prefer to sit at the kitchen table.

64 degrees is a mix between a tapas bar and a sushi restaurant: they serve tapas size dishes and they prepare it in front of you as the kitchen is open to the dining room. The restaurant is small which gives an intimate atmosphere. Although it was full(Saturday night), it wasn’t noisy so you can enjoy both your tapas and the conversation of your friends. Important note about booking: We booked 4 weeks in advance for Saturday night. You’ll have the table for 1h30. I’m too lazy to go in details about the food(mea culpa) but it was brilliant. We had scallops, Ox tongue, sardine and Duck breast. For dessert, truffle(lack some dark chocolate power but it’s a question of taste) and the amazing plum, I didn’t know that plum could be so good. I’m not gonna spoil the joy of discovering each flavor in these dishes. Go try it by yourself, it’s worth the 35/40£ per head. What I prefer with the food is that they cook the main element(sardine, ox tongue…) on its own so you appreciate the real taste of it and around you have veggies and sauce-like-«emulsion»(I don’t know how to say it in English) and special mash that would take you hours to try to reproduce in your kitchen. The mix is a real success: fancy cooking with real taste(and reasonable prices cos in Paris, a place like is much more expensive) They change the menu frequently: end of august we had salmon(delicious) and chicken wings. They are no longer on the menu. The only reason I didn’t give 645 stars is the wine. The red Italian wine I had was bad and served warm! Wine is part of the meal for me, it influences the flavor of the food, and the food will give different taste to the same wine throughout the meal. When the wine list will be at the same level of quality than the menu, this restaurant will be worth traveling for.

Best food I’ve eaten in Brighton for a long time. We had 7 dishes and every one had unique and interesting flavours. The sturgeon with pickled watermelon was exceptional, as were the three types of seaweed. The restaurant itself is small giving it an intimate atmosphere with a great vibe and friendly staff. My new favourite restaurant in town, can’t wait to go back.

It’s not often you get to order every single dish on the menu. But that’s exactly what we did at this tiny but brilliant place in the Brighton lanes. The menu is split into three. Meat. Fish. Veg. And the portions are tapas sized. So with four of us there to dine and four dishes in each section we didn’t think we were being too piggy. The other reason for ordering one of everything is that it all sounded so damn delicious and interesting. Pork, kimchi, apple. Scallop, spinach, turnip. Cauliflower, house egg, pangritatta. There’s a lot on the menu that we needed to ask about. And the staff were only too happy to regale us. It struck us that the people running this place are really enjoying what they are doing. Each dish had something excellent about it. The partridge had been cooked sous vide for many hours and was fall apart tender with a rich unctuous sauce. The venison was like winter in your mouth. In fact it was all delicious. We ordered one more of the partridge and one more of two other dishes I can’t remember but was spectacular. That was us just being piggy. The dishes require you to enjoy every morsel. They are creative, they are skilfully put together. They aren’t for scoffing. But they are also a lot of fun. Nothing snobby or elitist about this place. No chin stroking. It’s tiny and not exactly comfy but they’ve made the most of the inside and it’s smart and welcoming. The only reason it doesn’t get the full five stars is that some of the dishes were pretty hard to share which defeats the point of tapas a little. And the puddings seemed like an afterthought. Nowhere near as interesting and delightful as the mains. It’s not often you go to a place that’s truly doing things a bit different and enjoying it so much. Or where you can eat absolutely everything they have on offer. I reckon we spent about £50 a head which isn’t cheap, but it is fair for the standard of the food. If you’re after a bit of mindless eating this isn’t the place for you. But if you’re after something fun and exciting and done with real spirit then order one of everything and enjoy.
