This is our go-to for takeaway Indian curry. We’ve been going there for the last 8 years, and quality has always been the same: top notch. In the last couple of years they have also started to offer delivery too, though I do recommend picking it up if you live locally — generally it’s a lot quicker(25 mins vs 45 – 60). I’m leaving five stars, but with one caveat: I always order the same thing, because it’s delicious: the Chicken Lajawab special. Chicken tikka in a spicy-but-not-too-spicy sauce. The Moto Paneer(cheesy peas!) and Cauliflower Bhaji are our go-to sides, and my wife loves the veg dhansak. This comes to about £25 with nan and bits, and covers us for two mealtimes at least. The owner is super friendly, they’ve never got my order wrong and the food has always been delicious. Highly recommended.

Super friendly guy, but most importantly, damn was it good! Had the chicken tikka bhuna which was a great balance of flavour and spicy. Sag paneer was good too, paneer was very good. If I lived nearby, I’d come here very, very often.

Okay, we all have our favourite take away joints that we patronise through the years, but this one I’ve been going to for the last eleven years — how sad is that? Or how marvellous. Their korma and massala sauce is tangy, thick and melt in your mouth and stays with you long into the evening — and sometimes into the night! The owner, Ali, is always friendly and the prices have hardly risen in all that time. We used to live in Seven Dials then we had kids and got boring in Poets Corner, but I still climb in the car go all the way back to Curry Inn for a really lovely Indian take away.

all in all, i would say that this place is a great little find. food is inexpensive and i would rate it above all of the other indian takeaways i have tried in brighton. the mutton jalfrezi was especially good and the aloo gobi was nice apart from the lack of cauliflower, but the taste was all there. good.
