Dropped in here whilst down in Brighton on business. I must say i had the best burger i have ever had accompanied with sweet potatoe fries and a couple of cocktails.(Happy hour) I was on my own which was no problem to them and i found the waitress to be very friendly. Definitely worth popping in again,

Since Giraffe has had a rebrand, I have to say it has improved somewhat! Now called ‘Burgers and Cocktails’ but still a part of the Giraffe Brand, the menu focuses on, you’ve guessed it — Burgers and Cocktails! Now no burger in Brighton has come close to being as Burger Brothers in my personal opinion, but the burger here was decent. Nothing out of this world, but it was satisfactory, not one of the worst burgers I’ve had. There is also a wider selection of cocktails than they had previously, which for me can only be a good thing. I had a couple of cocktails here, they were nice, but not splendid if you know what I mean! A good place to go if you want a nice meal out with the family.

I love giraffe. Today we had a quick visit to Brighton with my mum. We finished our job and we decided to sit down for a quick lunch. We both love Giraffe. We ordered fresh lemonades they were lovely. We got soup of the day and the super healthy salad. The food was really good. And the lady who served us was really polite and friendly. The atmosphere is really nice and quite.

One of a chain, Giraffe does fun, wholesome and slightly exotic food. This outlet is down by the lovely Jubilee Iibrary. Whether one of the burgers, salads, breakfasts or even one of the smoothies, Giraffe is a good place for a raucous lunch rather than anything romantic or restrained. Very child friendly, they provide high chairs a good kid’s menu and also colouring in for the little ones.

This place is great in as much as it caters for many tastes, is child friendly and the staff are really nice. The food however is very average

If you’re a group of family or friends who can’t agree between yourselves what to eat pizza, burger, Tex-Mex, Mediterranean, Asian, salads and to top it all, some of you have little ones in buggies then you won’t go too wrong choosing Giraffe who cater for many tastes and groups. If you need some ethics, Giraffe sources it food through regional buyers which is better than no policy at all. On one of their dishes they donate a percentage to London Zoo. I sampled their Nachos for starters which were a bit chewy but the Chorizo it came with was excellent and a nice touch. For mains I plumped for a Duck Burrito that arrived on a piping hot plate however it turned out the Burrito was barely lukewarm inside that I had to send back to the kitchen but I must add I was the only person who suffered this in our large group. And on that same note, the staff and service was excellent. Responsive, polite with a no problem smile even when sending food back. Good wine list too. I ordered the Sangiovese which I must say was gorgeous. I’ll be going again to try their £5 for any Burger meal on Thursdays.

Its the perfect temperature; a great shelter from the bitter cold outside Our unexpected stumble into this restaurant was a blessing in disguise. Scrumptious duck stir fry and lovely catch up with people– sensational Arizona blueberry ice tea and jizztastic rocky road chocolate sunday with strawberries and marshmellows. I hear you lick you lips. I certainly was hours after the meal. The drinks were served immediately! the food followed at a brilliant pace. The menu is wide enough to accompany to everyone’s taste; with their global array of mains and desserts. The service is great! Friendly and always willing give a hand or two. We were served by a delightful waitress by the name of Martina. It s a outstanding atmosphere; so relaxed and chilled out: great for meal out after work or regular/dates/drink up pirate nights and kids! It couldn’t accommodate more genres if it tried: P Its a new regular :)

I’ve always associated Giraffe with burgers, and despite being from the US, I am not a fan of America’s favourite dish. Thus, I never considered this establishment as an option until quite recently when I’d finally eaten there. So let this be a message to you anti-burger folks: Giraffe is still worth checking out. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of dishes, cuisines, and vegetarian options(!) represented on the menu. Some people thumb their noses at eateries that offer more than one kind of cuisine. I say, if the dishes are made well, who cares? So, after MUCH deliberation, I settled on an Asian-themed order of crunchy Japanese tiger prawns and the Thai duck stir fry. The prawns were nothing special, but the duck stir fry was pretty fun, and certainly a filling portion. It paired well with the ethically produced South African red wine, which had an appropriately spicy flavour. The dessert — a Caribbean-themed nutty fruity sundae — was less than enthralling, especially for the price, so I recommend you go for something more inspiring. As is often the case with chain restaurants, the service was great, and the waitress was lovely, offering lots of suggestions — the wine and main were good calls on her part! As a Yank turned Brit, I still really care about the service, and there are times when a good server makes up for the less than great dessert, and makes for an overall favourable impression. Tip deserved! I’ll have to come back and sample their burritos to see if they’re worth their salt!

I was lucky to be invited to a Qype Guru at Giraffe in Brighton. I’d never been here before and was pleasantly surprised by the variety on the menu. The chef told us this is because giraffes have very long necks and can see all around the world! The waitress was absolutely marvellous and was on the ball despite the restaurant and easily coped with our table of 10. I wasn’t paying — but if I had been I’d have been pleased with the prices, especially the burger special. The wine list was surprisingly comprehensive — I would expected just a house red/white — obviously I ordered one of the most expensive bottles! and it went really well with my towering, juicy lamb burger. The burger was a juicy pile, sheep are better than cows between the buns. I can’t remember what it was called … something greek. An argoburger? not sure. But it was great. Desert … the chocolate brownie was as good as it gets. I make and sell brownies in a café at fairs and festivals. I’m always complemented on my brownies, but I kneel before the chocolate dream I was served on Thursday. Scrummy …

I love this place — While a lot of chains are very mechanical in their approach to both the service and the food, you get a real sense of the personal touch at Giraffe, and the food is definitely cooked fresh rather than coming out of a packet as it does with other chain restaurants! I’ve even been served by the manager a few times, and she was an absolute delight — Not one of the snotty self-important types that I’ve been subjected to at other places. It’s a very fun and relaxed place to eat, has one of the most varied menus around, and the service has always been top notch — Two thumbs up from me!

Living in Brighton, it’s very easy to develop an aversion to chain restaurants as there are so many fabulous, quirky, independent places to eat. I usually find chains horrendously overpriced and poor value for money by comparison. For this reason, I had avoided going to Giraffe until I was invited there for a Qype Guru event. So, with an open mind and an empty belly, along I went. On entrance, we were greeted by a wonderfully smiley and enthusiastic waitress who offered us a seat and had no hesitation in suggesting to us the best wine on the menu a Sauvignon Blanc which I must say was absolutely delicious. Their wine list is good, but rather expensive by the glass so I would recommend getting a bottle with your meal. Sitting down and perusing the menu I was surprised as there really is no way to classify what type of food Giraffe offers the menu had everything from burgers to Mexican food to Oriental influenced dishes. Picking a starter that complemented the main was a bit of a challenge. In the end I went for the chicken wings sharing starter, which was about the same price as the individual ones(around the £5 mark). The size of the starter was impressive six enormous chicken wings coated in a tasty Asian-style marinade. Probably a bit too much for one person as an appetizer, but hey, I was feeling greedy. For the main I went for the teriyaki salmon and wasabi rice because I thought it sounded like the most intriguing thing on the menu. The salmon fillet was beautiful and cooked to perfection and for £12.95 it wasn’t bad value either. As for the rice, I’m still undecided. A brave and interesting idea but one I’m not sure quite worked the way I thought it would. As far as chain restaurants go, Giraffe really isn’t half bad. The staff are great, the feel of the place is fun(even if the music was a bit loud) and the menu, wherever possible, is locally sourced in Kent and Sussex. The quality of the food is good and there are several deals on food and drink available throughout the week which make it even better value for money. Definitely worth a visit.

With a varied menu at a reasonable price this is definitely a good choice for a family dinner. Friendly staff and an atmosphere that doesn’t impinge on you but is not totally lifeless. I loved the Wasabi Rice which came with the Teryiaki Salmon excellent and the perfect counterpart to make the dish all hold together, if the other dishes have been out together with this sort of ingenuity they are on to a winner. Well worth a visit especially for the special offers

Giraffe do what they do well. As chains go, I think you could do a lot worse. At least Giraffe put out decent food served up with a side order of cheer from the friendly waiting staff. The menu is a real mash of international cuisine; stir-frys, burgers, burritos, pasta, salads which is good for large groups and all ages — there will be something on the menu you fancy. There is also quite a lot on the menu that you can share too. Nachos with chorizo were nice enough. Hardy a dish you can get wrong. My Chargrilled Teriyaki Salmon was lovely and cooked really well, the accompanying Wasabi and Green Onion rice bordered on the odd but balanced well as a dish overall. The burger I also tried was perfectly fine. The brownie I ordered for dessert was probably the only let down, being rather heavy but the waffles and sundaes looked good. They have a rather good wine list and a decent cocktail menu too. All in all good value in a vibrant environment. It’s worth looking out for their mid-week offers.

The most important element of a restaurant is its food, and in that respect I certainly wasn’t disappointed. Both the starter(Crispy Tiger King Prawns) and the main meal(Duck Fajita Burritos) were very tasty and left no wishes open, and most of the people in our group seemed to feel the same way. One of the guests had a complaint about his food, but the staff didn’t hesitate to bring a replacement which he found ‘excellent’, so I believe the faux pas to have been an exception. I also need to state that the smoothie which I had was absolutely delicious, and had there been more room left in my tummy, I would have loved to have tried the other ones as well. I agree with the first reviewer that the staff acted completely over the top however in the case of one of the waitresses who kept hopping past our table and who obviously thought she was a kangaroo, I was very amused about this fact, because I love people expressing themselves in such an uninhibited way, which is why I consider her one of the highlights of the evening. However the chef who introduced his restaurant to us seemed to have the aura of a holday club rep and his overly cheerful attitude and wild exaggerated gestures didn’t make him seem as credible and professional as he would have otherwise been. During the introduction we were given the chance to ask questions about the restaurant and the food. It was explained to us by the forementioned chef d’oeuvre that the meat was bought locally and that it was ethically sourced. Because I feel inclined to believe him, I am giving his establishment four stars.

Fun place, agreeable food for all the family, meeting friends, or before catching a movie. Great range of food, perhaps too much choice and encompassing all world foods. Food most definitely fresh which was great, chefs have a real talent for getting quality food out the kitchen! Good to see.

Not a huge amount wrong with this place. I’m always a bit wary of places that try and serve every type of cuisine from around the world but they seem to carry it off pretty well in here. That does make it an ideal place for groups as there really is something for everyone. Burgers, Mexican, ommelets — you name it, they’ll cook it! Great staff and nice relaxing surroundings make this a good place to head to for some lunch. Not too sure about the giraffe theme but they definitely don’t cook them.

Okay, so Giraffe has a set menu of dishes from all over the globe, with nachos sitting alongside Vietnamese curry, Thai stir fried duck and classic Brooklyn lager. When I went down here for a friends 21st, our group had a variety of vouchers that entitled us to 2 mains and starter(or desert) for the price of one mains. So essentially, every other meal was free, and we got starters to share. Not bad at all… However, I was severely disappointed by the size of the portions. Getting tortillas to share, my friend and I expected exactly that. A nice sized platter of tortillas and dips. At just shy of £4(I erased the exact price from my mind as the knowledge was too much to bear) we got 12 crisps, with an admittedly delicious(ricotta and spinach) dip. Meanwhile, our friend ordered nachos… Now on a personal note, I’m not fussed if I’m eating tortillas or nachos, as I can’t tell the difference. His starter on the other hand, was for one and cost about 50p more, and was literally filling his plate from brim to brim. Maybe its just jealousy, but I was rather disappointed at this point… And when our main meals came, I was very impressed at the variety on offer, and the quality of each of the different flavours. But again, the portion sizes were disappointing. I’d like to be able to have a meal and leave feeling satisfied(not gut wrenchingly full), not feeling tempted by a cheeky bag of chips for the walk home, especially when your forking out a hard earned tenner for your meal. The service is(as was promised) with a beaming smile and charming laugh, and the general design of the place was rather nice… The walk to the toilets was a particular(rather unusual) triumph, that leads gentlemen through several sets of doors and past paintings and various company mottos. All very lovely. I have heard talk of a lunch time deal running from Monday to Friday that entitles you to a soft drink and main course for £6.95 between the hours of 12 and 4… Now that does sound perfect for this place, as the portions are already lunch sized, and your essentially saving £2-£4 on a meal, and getting a free drink chucked in to the bargain and all. I’ll try this place again soon, and maybe give it another star if I reckon this deal earns it… Check back soon folks!

If I’m 100% honest, Giraffe confuses me. What are they serving? Who is their target demographic? Is it a children’s restaurant? And what’s with the giraffe theme anyway?! The menu is eclectic, to say the least. Usually this sets alarm bells ringing in my head… they’re not specializing in anything, so they must be mediocre at everything, riiiiight?! Wrong. Everything I’ve eaten at giraffe has actually been quite yummy, but unfortunately my experience of the food has always been overshadowed by my general feeling of unease about the place! I just don’t feel like I should be there… the bright, gimmicky décor combined with the tables of children colouring-in giraffes… it makes me feel as if I’m in some sort of warped jungle nursery school! A great place to take kids, but not ideal if you’re on a date or just want a bit of peace and quiet. Food-wise, I last went to Giraffe for breakfast and I very much enjoyed my Huevos Rancheros, it was much closer to the authentic dish than I would ever have imagined! I have also eaten the blueberry and banana pancakes, which are also good. I probably wouldn’t go back in a hurry, but not because of the food… I guess it’s just not my kinda place!

Trying to fit Giraffe into a food category is impossible! They, rather extraordinarily, serve just about every food type available and serve all this choice for all three meals! Patisserie– no problem, cooked breakfast– absolutely, burgers– three or four different yummy kinds, salads– classic American Cobb, Mediterranean feta, Thai stir fry, Enchiladas… you can see what I mean. They are taking no chances when it comes to providing you with something to drool over. I would be majorly impressive if I said that I had tried everything– unfortunately I can attest to the cappuccino– very smooth and tasty– and the pancakes– fluffy and with a lovely maple syrup and blueberries. The staff are extremely smiley and friendly and the décor is pleasant– although it could use some more tactile materials, everything seems a little metallic and cold, despite the bright colours.
