Hah, Brambles used to be an over 21s place but I got in and I only turned 21 this August. I’ve just looked at their website and it says they have an over 23s policy(!) I’ve never even heard of any door policy over the usual 18 or 21. You aren’t in Mayfair or Knightsbridge now dears, this is Bury. Very strange behaviour. Anyway, Brambles is a very nice bar if a little devoid of character — it is certainly not amazing enough to warrant its attempt at exclusivity. Although perhaps now they will actually be able to keep out the under 21s. They have resident DJs on Fridays and Saturdays, as standard and something a bit different to get crowds in on a Sunday night, unlikely but standard: live cabaret with various Z list singers/performers who have been on TV about once… Oh, I’m starting to sound bitter about Brambles now aren’t I. It is where the elder members of staff at a shop I used to work in in Bury used to like to go. Probably just so they could brag that they were old enough to get in. Message to Brambles — not all young people are louts and I would rather deal with a pretty young thing falling over than some forty year old on the floor(trust me I’ve seen this on a racecourse champagne lawn).
