I came here for dinner with my partner after a film since I’ve heard so much about this place! Overall, I’m quite happy with my experience at FeD. ~ Atmosphere: I would say that in terms of the atmosphere, FeD definitely tries to cater to a «younger» crowd if that makes sense. The décor is very colourful with a pastel vibe going on. All of their employees are of the younger generation as well, I would guess approximately university age. There’s definitely nothing wrong with this but something to keep in mind if you’re searching for a particular atmosphere! They do keep the place clean with plenty of seating space. Plus, they’re in an awesome location right in the city centre! ~ Customer Service: Pretty good. We were greeted straight away and taken to our seats and the server was happy to explain to us how it works since my partner and I have never been before. There’s also plenty of employees around so it was really easy to track someone down when we needed anything. My experience at most buffets in Cardiff so far is that for some reason they always take ages with getting drinks but FeD was really quick! ~ Food: FeD is awesome in that they not only have loads of different food already made in hot plates, but they also have a few stations where things are cooked to order. You just give the chef your order, your table number, and a server brings it out to you! How awesome is that? No standing in a queue waiting for your food to finish. My favourite was the make-your-own roast dinner. Roast turkey carved to order with green beans, carrots, mashed potatoes, yorkshire puddings, roasties, and gravy! Mmmm… Another positive of FeD is that they do have a decent variety of multiple cuisines on offer; going from classic British to Japanese, Chinese to Indian, and even build-your-own tacos. I was pretty overwhelmed by the selection to be honest. Oh, and did I mention they have hot custard at the dessert section? In terms of the quality I would say that it’s a little bit under in terms of other buffets I’ve experienced in Cardiff. However, it’s still decent food and at all-you-can-eat? For a great price too. — One thing important to mention about FeD is that for people who have allergens they list allergies on every single food item. A friend of mine loves this because she’s celiac(absolutely no gluten for her) so she doesn’t have to worry about not knowing what to get. I’m really glad that FeD care about and cater to this demographic! Overall, I do like FeD, the prices aren’t too extravagant, the variety was great, and a lot of the food was cooked to order. As a buffet, FeD does its job for me!
