As a low-ranking geek I love Gamestation. I will admit I had no idea they were owned by Game until checking out Jamie’s review and that irks me a little. I always thought they were rivals and I was getting one over on the«man» by spending my money here instead. Turns out I’ve been playing right into their hands since 2007. Damn you corporate parasites! Back to the review then. Gamestation used to be cheap as chips and I remember when it first opened I knew I could walk in here with virtually no money and at least leave with something half-decent. I was in here a couple of days ago and it seems that now they have far fewer good deals and alot more overpriced items. Modern Warfare 2 shouldn’t still be £44.99 surely? The staff seemed fairly bored and disinterested and didn’t ask if I wanted any help. I hate when they do ask that though and I would have been even more annoyed if they did, so a pat on the back for inadvertently providing good customer service. They still had decent enough pre-owned prices though and they were still cheaper than Game… Even though they are Game… Still irritated.

Having gone in here this weekend with the other half in search of some battery for something, I can honestly say I would rather not have to go in there again, ever! Being a gaming widow I have been in lots of these shops, not usually by choice but this was by far the worst because it was full of idiots! Although they were the customers, not the staff. Its defiantly more boy orientated than game, and the staff seem like geeky people who would be able to tell you everything you needed to know about games. It also seems to be a bit cheaper than Game which is weird since they are owned by the same person. I think I will just stick to any game shopping online though, as the internet is much cheaper.

Being the geeky man I am, I like nothing better than moonwalking to a gaming store, Much to my lovely’s destain. Gamestation is owned by GAME and probably can be thought of as a scruffy younger brother. The shop is fairly tight and is very densely packed which can be a little hard at times to find what your looking for. I think all High Street stores prices are overpriced. Gamestation is no different and are very guilty of over charging for Blu-Ray movies. However, they do seem to give fairly decent exchange rates if you bring your own games in(not incl. PC). Staff are hit and miss, you get some great ones who will have a chat wit you and are helpful with any info you need. Some though have probably spent a little too much time playing in their bedroom and not spoken to a human in a while. They don’t seem as pushy as GAME though and makes for a far more relaxed experience in the shop.
