Jinuk

Having lived here a few years now, I think I can consider myself a curry connoisseur.
Unjustifiably, perhaps, but in any case, I still enjoy trying new Indian cuisine whenever the opportunity arises.
The dishes you’ll find here are tasty, plain and simple. My only criticism is the place ain’t easy to find, and when I’m ravenous, every second counts. Maybe I’m hypoglycaemic or something.
Anyway, after a few minutes of me wandering and screeching, I finally found it — if you blink you miss it, basically. It’s just a doorway that leads up a stairwell to the bar and dining area. I haven’t had the pleasure of eating in yet, I’ve only enjoyed their efficient and friendly takeaway service.
The chicken korai is always lumped with generous helpings of succulent breast meat, and the rice isn’t sopping wet with grease like some I’ve tasted.
And I still think they have some of the best chutney tray staples in town — the lime pickle stands out for me, and I hog as much as I’m able to when presented with it.

Jinuk is part of an award winning chain that, as you’d expect, does all the stuff that chains do… from walk-​ins, reservations, meals for singles and couples, large group bookings, corporate and private group entertaining, outside catering, take aways etc etc etc… The foods great, but I’m not so enamoured with the location. Situated above the ill-​fated Oscars, that possesses a front that is more akin to the Italian flag than anything you would see in a professional shop-​front design manual, Jinuk, although it also tries its best to be seen, is somewhat obscured by the ostentation of the indefinitely shut Oscars.
Good food. Reasonable prices. Great if you can find it! The best advice I can give you is look up!

I’ve been getting a bit bored of Indian food as of late. It doesn’t help that Cardiff is utterly spoilt for choice being so many in the area that it becomes hard to make a choice.
So Jinuk is fantastic food wise, really tasty and great portions for the price. What’s amazing is the level of service you get from the waiters as the place is always so damn busy when I go. However they do seem to keep on top of things and do not rush their time with you.
