The manager told us we can not order our appetizers separate from main course. My cousin was offended by this. Then he kicked us out and got into a shouting match. After we had walked away he ran behind us and sucker punched my cousin. When we realized what happened he had 4 other friends holding us down. They have no respect for patrons. If you are a tourist do not go here.

I visited Mango House on the suggestion of friends who had visited Cardiff several years earlier, and was primarily given the factor of location as a reason to have a meal. After the Wales rugby match I saw when in town, it seemed like an excellent idea, as it was right in the city but still on my way home. The servers were incredibly nice to me, a lone diner, and took extra care to make sure I had everything I needed(including an amazing packing up of my takeaway with free rice and popadons). They prices were really reasonable and the food was deliciously standard for Indian cuisine. I’d recommend it among any that I read about on Unilocal before popping in. They have a nice atmosphere, make you feel well taken-care of, and have a great view of the street to watch all the crazy, dejected rugby fans walking home in the rain.

The food is average to perhaps slightly above average, with a very extensive menu. It’s in a nice location, with good ambiance and attentive service. A solid choice for a filling and satisfying dinner.

Set down the side of The Angel Hotel, possibly even in it. Terrible food terrible service.

The food here is superb. We love a good curry, and have already sussed out the best Indian take-away and the best all you can eat Indian buffet, and now we have sussed out the best Indian Restaurant. We go to this restaurant for special occasions as a treat as it is more expensive than the ‘all you eat’ place we usually go to. Lovely food, portion sizes are ok. but as I am an ‘all you can eat’ fanI would prefer my portion sizes a little bit bigger. Having said that– others who have eaten there have found the portions to be ample. The restaurant is small and intimate, but very sophisticated, chic, nicely decorated and comfortable. The restaurant and toilets are up some stepsso not sure how wheelchair accessible it is(may be worth phoning and asking them if you do use a wheelchair as I don’t remember seeing a ramp-but I wasn’t actively looking for one) Due to its size and layout this restaurant is great for quiet/romantic, intimate, adult dining, and although I am sure children are welcome here– noisy(younger) children will not go unnoticed in the initmate setting.(Please look at their website to see the layout and the stairs leading to the restaurant.)

Have been here several times now — a nice treat and good alternative to your bog standard, 11pm curry house. The restaurant is high-ceilinged and airy so ideal for couples or groups and the service is attentive but not overbearing. There’s a very extensive menu with quite a few unique dishes as well as the old favourites. Many of the dishes come with rice or nan. Last week the bill for 2(3 poppadoms, 1 mixed starter, 2 curries, 1 rice, several lagers) came to £48.

My mum recommended that I visit Mango House and who am I to ignore her fine wisdom. To be honest I have lived here a while and hadn’t even noticed this place which is odd since it’s next to my favouite Wetherspoons. I was warned that it wasn’t cheap, but actually it’s not too pricey and worth it for the food. The menu was quite extensive and there were lots of unusual veggie choices. I had a really good fish dish here which was a change from my usual Masala pic. Now that i’ve found it, I’ll defiantly go back and try out some more dishes, or better still I might just give them a call now and get it delivered!

Inhabiting the old Grand Hotel, Mango house is a beautifully bright, modern Indian restaurant. If like today’s beautiful weather accompanied your visit to Mango house, you’d be in for a treat. The décor is elegantly modern with light wood dominating the restaurant. The waiters here are great and love to engage with you. Always a smile on their faces and adds to a great experience. The food here is top notch. Feeling brave I went for a chicken vindaloo. Hotter than Angelina Jolie rubbing sun tan cream into Megan Fox’s back, this thing burnt! But what a joy it was. Incredibly tasty and the chicken was so tender it almost fell apart as you picked at it. Added as a side was coconut rice, my favourite if you must know. Prices are fine here too. Your looking at about £15 a head for a main course and £25 ish for 2 courses and a cheeky drink. So stop reading this and go while the weather is till decent. It may not last!
