This was one of my favourite places outside Manchester when I worked in Mickle Trafford down the road. A mere 35 minutes drive from Manchester(Traffic pending) it really is a perfect get away type location. Manchester is a vibrant and happeing place 7 days a week. The city is buzzing all year round depending on if you know where to go. Chester on the other hand is a tad sleepier which isn’t a bad thing at all if you wanna get away from the hustle and bustle for an evening. A chilled out sunday vibe was desired last week and I got more than I bargained for. The place was busy but relaxed and there was the added bonus of it beinng an open mic night.(which, I think is a weekly thing.(I think) The décor of this huge pub is something that has to be experienced. In fact it has all the features I like in any building. High ceilings, exposed timbers, brick walls housing industrial artefacts and a gorgeous feature glass frontage(with a tranquil scene overlooking the canal) all make for a perfect setting for a great evening in my book. If any fellow Unilocalers wanna tag along I’ll be heading back there soon on a sunday.

Nice local pub with friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. I was in town visiting some family and we came here our first Friday night. Being from the US we don’t have many local casual bars we either have restaurants or fancy bars and clubs with an age range of 20 – 40. It was nice to see people in here ages 18 – 80. You can see there was a young crowd that was obviously starting there and then going into town, it was nice to see 20 – 30 year old aged people in there with their parents and grandparents, being from California for me this was great to see! I didn’t eat here but my brothers came in the next day to watch the game and they really enjoyed their food, they had bangers and mash and a toastie with chips and my parents enjoyed a Sunday roast dinner the next day. The toilets are not the cleanest but it’s a bar, it’s been remodeled since I was last in town about 5 years ago and they did a good job with that. The menu has literally everything you can think of, I think it was 5 pages. There’s a variety of alcohol, they’re open until 12 and overall it’s a happening spot in this little town!

I go to this place fairly regularly and I’ve never been disappointed. You know a great bar when even the bouncers are friendly and respectable to you. The bar staff always seem to always have a positive attitude and both inside and outside is really cool.

Some label it as the best bar in Chester. I wouldn’t go that far but it is a lovely bar with a fantastic view. Situated on the canal side just little bit out from the city centre Tellfords is an re-purposed warehouse with a nice long bar and restaurant area upstairs. Good cask beer selection, a good few international beers on tap too. They have a good selection in their fridges and a good few wines available too to suit most tastes. Nice food menu which isn’t too overpriced. Lots of locals that visit for meals. They have very nice staff who are helpful and efficient. Telfords offer a great choice of events from music to comedy. Good off street parking. Ohh and their beer garden is right on the canal side. Great for a bit of boat watching in the sun.

I could take my father, brother, girlfriend, mother or work companion to this venue. Something for everyone. Might be noisy pm.

Telfords is a great place for good food and beer. I eat here several times a year and I’ve never been disappointed with the quality of the food or beer. It also has a good reputation for live music and attracts a crowd of all ages. Ok it is a little way out of the town centre but well worth a visit.

Telfords is a nice bar, It has a very good selection of cask ales and other well know brands. the service is acceptable all though you can be waiting a while, The prices are towards the higher end and I have heard their food is good. Telfords as a live music venue is not so good, unfortunately their stage seems to be dominated by the same couple of bands and the venue offers nothing fresh or exciting in the way of live music which is a such a shame for a good performance space for chester.

Had a light lunch here on Saturday with Mrs. Despite being busy, service was very good. Had excellent baguettes(Mine was prawn and crab in mayo, wifes was Tuna) which also came with some chips and salad, actually quite a plateful. Nice location just out of the City on the canal. Will be good in summer as there are some tables outside on the towpath

Telfords is a great spot for a night out and has a range of entertainment on offer. Some nights see Telfords turned into a dance club — other nights have live music, and sometimes it’s just a greta place to chill out. It’s a little bit out of town, near the city walls — but right on the far side of the city centre. It’s near the student area of the city making it very popular with them. The food is great and the service is always good — drinks are reasonably priced and it never seems to get too busy. Telfords is a valuable part of Chester’s night life and will continue to be popular for years to come due to range of entertainment it provides.

If you’re looking for a place to see live music in Chester then Telford’s should probably be the first place you should consider. During weekday evenings the dancefloor hosts the likes of salsa dancing classes available to both beginners and those who’d consider their skill to be intermediate. As other reviews have stated, the food is excellent and the quality of the ale is always of a high standard. During summer Telford’s is the perfect spot to sit and while away the hours whilst watching the sun set over the Shropshire Union Canal.

Mostly good things to mention about this bar, it has a wonderful location a good menu, even out walking the dog down the canal some nights i am really tempted to nab a sly pint with the pooch but he always forgets his wallet on his round. Its well known for its music scene and one of the places to play in chester, with its unique interior and florr space and atmosphere telfords has a winning formula and sticks to it

i Think this is one of the best bar’s in the chester area with great food and drinks served at decent prices. The greatest view from a pub in chester gurenteed. The bar is situated on the bank of the river dee giving you an extreamely relaxing and soothing drinking or eating experiance. Then friday night come and this quite little bar turn 360 degrees into one of the hot spots to chester night life. Filled with students on there way into town from the huge student housing estates down the road overall fantastic food and drink lively weekends overall this place ticks all the boxes and more

I think Telfords is by far the best pub in Chester. The beer choice is excellent with a selection of real ales and continental lagers. They have a great open mic night that I’ve been to a few times. It’s run by a different person each week which seems to keep it fresh. The food is really good too. I remember having a fantastic Caesar salad there. Saturday nights in Chester are best spent in Telfords — the DJ’s are usually excellent and it’s not full of idiots like some other places in Chester. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in town.

Telfords is amazing! The music is cool covering many different genres. The food is really nice and they have a great selection of beers. The bar staff are friendly and the canal side location is unbeatable in the summer. It is by far the best place to eat drink and party in Chester. It gets quite busy at the weekends but that creates a great atmosphere!
