Dismal service from this crown Carvery. Borrowed equipment from me and returned it MONTHSLATER broken and missing pieces. Cost me £350.00, the cost of replacement and a job I could not do because I didnt have a working machine

I’m not really a fan of Carvery but this one is actually pretty good. Food is usually very good, especially at fairly busy times of day as it is replaced often. The Turkey is great and is always cooked perfectly and you get a very generous portion, there is also the option of ham or beef. The Yorkshire puddings and potatoes are fine and there is a good choice of vegetables. On the down side it does get very busy and you can have to queue at the bar for ages for drinks and then at the carvery for food. disabled toilet is really grim!

Recently refurbished to accomodate the new carvery menu, The Bowling green offers great value for money. We have been there several times and was slightly disappointed at the length of waiting times to queue up for the carvery. There is a full choice of three roasts, turkey, ham, and pork, veg, yorkshire pudding and trimmings with gravy. The best bit is even with your plate full you can go back for another helping, if you can manage it. There is also a veggie option and a choice of deserts and other bar meals. Good value for money it is definately worth a visit.

This is an olde worlde type family pub situated on the A49 so its easy to find and if you want a carvery thats great value for money then this is just the place for you. Mon to Sat its just £3.50(Sun its £6.50) for that you get the choice of baked ham, turkey crown or beef or all three if you want, carved by a friendly chef, yorkshire pud, stuffing then help yourself to new potatoes, roasties and seasonal veg last time I went it was cabbage, carrot and swede, garden peas and cauliflower cheese. Theres also gravy and other accompaniments such as mustard, cranberry sauce etc. I have never been dissapointed with the food as its always been piping hot and most importantly freshly cooked and tasty. There are starters and puddings available as well as veggi options and they do a lovely cuppa for those who like a hot drink with their meal. If the weathers up to it you can sit in the beer garden, the kids can go and play in the indoor soft play area(for a small extra charge). The downside is that because its such great value for money it gets very busy especially at tea time when famlies arrive but believe me the food is well worth the wait
