Christmas function held here and easily the best Indian restaurant I have been to for ages. We were aware of the ‘bring your own’ booze policy and a run into the local co-op brought a varying choice of beers to the table. This ended up as a beer tasting session during popadoms! The service was friendly and efficent although a little slow at times but mayby that was down to a party of 16. The food was fantastic and plenty of it. Presentation of the dishes was very plaesing to the eye and reinforced the excellent fresh tasting quality of the meal. A number of tasting sessions took place between individuals and all agreed the food was top quality. The restauarant and music was a little uninspiring but with food like that who cared. Of course the bill was pretty cheap as there was no alchol added and that reallly topped of the meal.

We have been eating take-away food at Haque’s since it relocated to the new premises. The food has always been the best Indian cuisine in Corsham. We were delighted to hear that the business was opening a restaurant to compliment the existing take-away. Myself and two friends booked a table for last night and we were delighted by the quality of the food. It tasted so fresh and the staff were excellent. The proprietor(Haque) has the objective of serving great food with great customer service. From my first visit I can say that he has achieved this already. There was a momentary ‘blip’ when we had language problems with one of the staff, but I think he was new and this was soon resolved. One thing to note is that Haque’s does not serve alcohol. You can bring your own, or do what we did and nipped over the road to the ‘Flemish Weaver’ and got some bottles to ‘take out’. This policy is clearly marked on the door, but if you have reserved a table by ‘phone, it may not be apparent. Other local guests new about this policy and were happily bringing drinks in. The surroundings are comfortable and I think the restaurant seats about 30 people. The toilet facility is to be commended, also(I know this i important to many people). Well done to Haque for a great new part of the business. I wish him and his family every success.

Simple review of this place really… Tried it once and my 14 year old daughter told me never to order her food from there again! She couldn’t eat a single bite because of the amount of spices the chef decided to dump in. The curry was so thick I thought they’d mistakingly given us brown wallpaper paste! Won’t be visiting there again, and I didn’t like seeing one of their kitchen staff walking around with a cigarette in his mouth– how unhygienic!

Haque’s is our fantastic local indian takeaway. I’ve never had a bad meal from them — the food is always excellent and ready when they say it will be. The owners and staff know their regulars well and are always very friendly and helpful. The takeaway is rated 5⁄5 stars in the scores on the doors scheme which I gather is very hard to achieve. Excitingly, Haque’s will be opening a restaurant on the same premises later in this year — I look forward to it!
