After wandering around the UK a bit, I finally figured out that this was part of a chain! Not bad for a chain, the décor is not institutional, the service was personable and the pizza was palatable. I had a multiple topping combo, designed for a thick crust pie on a thin crust base. The best pizza I’ve ever had? No, but quite passable.
There is an adequate selection of entrees beyond the pies and Some fairly inexpensive wines to pick from. This is not a destination restaurant and has no local flair, but looking at the other Unilocal selections in the area it might rank pretty high. I’d go back and perhaps try another Pizza Express link in the chain as well.
