Maddison’s Bakery

Food maybe ok but service and attitude of staff and owner are awful. I like to support local small businesses but this is one I won’t be going to again. Pity

Great little cozy neighborhood Bakery along Long Lane.
I am partial for any family neighborhood bakery, and Maddison’s Bakery keeps the tradition going.
If you want to grab on the go, or even sit down this is the place to get your necessary baked goods.

Maddison’s in Long Lane is okay but I’ve been in better bakeries. I went there for lunch fairly early one day and the choice of rolls and sandwiches were not brilliant. The staff said that they had run out of food which was sup rising given the time of day. The food didn’t seem like good value either, £1.50-ish for a cheese roll, not even a big roll but one which was no bigger than your average sandwich roll.
You can sit in and eat which is something I like but didn’t take advantage of as I didn’t end up buying anything but it is worth keeping in mind if you’re in the area and want to meet a friend for lunch or a catch up cuppa. Parking is available opposite the store in the street making it easy to access.
