Eh, went to Rajpooth the other night for the first time in a long time and it was … not great. There were tons of students waiting around to be seated, perhaps due to the set menu special on Sunday nights. We waited quite a while to be seated. When the food came it was just … not great. The flavors seemed off, sort of bland, nothing had the right spice level. I would head to Spice Lounge over Rajpooth.

I stay nearby here when in Durham and I rate the rajpooth as nicer than any indian restaurant in London, durham it anywhere else in the UK for service, taste an price. Superb.

I’d definitely pick Spice Lounge or The Capital over this place, but it was pretty good for the price. The service was good and there was a nice selection, but I was really put off by the fact that you can’t get out of your seat without pushing the table back, meaning that whoever is sitting across from you has to stand up to let you out. This could easily be remedied by just buying different tables.

I’ll never forget when one of the waiters brought out a whole box of after eights after me and some friends had our final meal before leaving uni. I’m trying to plan a pilgrimage back up, but it is a long way now The food is great and the special meal on Sunday kept us going back every weekend. But the best thing is the staff — laid back, funny and charming. And they teach you how to order in Indian if you ask.

One of my favourite Indian’s in the North East. Located in Durham city centre it is easily accessible and plenty of parking nearby. Staff are very friendly and service is excellent. Food is lovely, I only eat mild curries and therefore can recommend the passanda and the malayan however friends eat much hotter and also have raved about their choices.

This is my favourite Indian restaurant ever! The food is delicious and very reasonable priced in my opinion and the staff are friendly and will help you pick out meals depending on your likes/dislikes. It’s very close to centre which is also a bonus as it’s only about a five minute walk to the bus stop. I really like the chicken dishes they serve and always have one of them. I especially like the ones with a creamy sauce and i also enjoy the ones with ginger added. Yum!
