Spice Lounge

Have to say that Spice Lounge has taken a serious nose dive and I cannot recommend it anymore.
Came here for the first time in a while the other day on a weekend evening. We had booked a table for 8pm. When we arrived there was a mass of people waiting, all of whom had reservations. In the end we were not seated until 40 minutes after our reservation time, without even an apology. They had clearly overbooked tables and didnt care that it was completely rude to make people wait for such a long time with a reservation.
When we were finally seated we were rushed, the place was packed and loud, and the atmosphere was stressed and not enjoyable at all. The food was good, but the prices seem to have been higher and were not worth it for what we received. Add to that several things about our order were wrong, but no one came to check on us. We ordered a round of beers that never came, instead they just brought us the bill.
In the end we left sort of exhausted and wishing we had gone somewhere else. It is only the fact that Durham is small and has limited weekend options that must keep this place open as it would quickly get a bad reputation in an decent sized town.

A bit difficult to find, but really just delicious food. A bit on the small side, so a booking is recommended, but definitely worth a try.
