Pubs in Enfield are pretty terrible in all honesty, and I just revisited The Stag after they had a fire and had reopened for business. Mostly because we were drunk and decided we needed«one more» before heading home. So four of us went in to check it out. Before the fire, the two beers they had in the cask would usually be off when you ordered them. So they’ve fixed this problem by getting rid of all their cask ales and all the beers are now on nitrogen tap. So that was a huge let down. It’s business is kept up as it’s one of the late night venues in Enfield. So if you need a place to be after midnight, this is where you’ll probably end up. Personally, I’m not sure I’d go back.

Very small guest house, but very friendly staff. We were on a business trip here and the location for us was perfect. There is no food available on site but some restaurants(and a Starbucks) are pretty close. My room was small and clean. The noise from the busses and room neigbors was not bad at all. I liked it here…

On wkend nights this place is totaly packed for the size it is(very small), good atmos though, and a random variety of dif people. Drink prices r a bit high, and has jukebox connected to tv’s playing non stop. which I don’t mind anyway. I wouldn’t advise eating upstairs though. top service, just food wasn’t great(was a while ago though).

Like many other outer London suburbs, Enfield is full of mediocre pubs, of which The Stag is a perfect example. The staff are helpful and friendly and it’s kept clean and well-organised, but I could also say that of the local M&S. The music blaring from the video jukeboxes is annoying and the reliability of the real ale is questionable — I’m not sure whether it’s off or it’s cleaning fluid, but it often doesn’t taste quite right. The food, wine and the rest of the drink selection are OK but unimaginative — nothing you couldn’t get in a million and one chain pubs up and down the country and The Stag is more expensive. The crowd is youngish — on weekday nights you’ll often find employees from the technology firm across the road drinking there. They show football at the weekend. If you want a pub with a bit more atmosphere, better food and well kept beer try The Cricketers, which is a 5-minute walk away up Chase Side. To experience a real local with outstanding beer, try The Wonder.
